Anybody here going and have any tips on where to stay? Never been to Kentucky and going to try to get there Thursday to check out the Keeneland race track for a few days prior to the game. Hotels seem a bit pricy online (i know last minute) so i'm guessing we are there big draw? ha. Any recs or anything would be extremely helpful. Thanks and hook em!

My comment here is a bit different... I have watched Texas -OU game since 1968 and have only missed being in the North half of the Cotton Bowl Stadium 3 times in that span. All the misses due to having surgery myself or a family member's medical need. I've seen several times where the Longhorns Defense had Zero U under control when the starting Okie QB had to leave the field with an injury. And what do you know? The backup QB in crimson and cream trots onto the field and plays lights out, hot as can be. It's really frustrating for the Texas fans because it seems like the Defense relaxes a bit when the starter goes out and the whole complexion of the game changes. I really hope "What's his name QB" doesn't get all motivated and play a career best game against Texas and I also hope this edition of the Texas Defense doesn't relax with the savior from the Portal sitting this one out. Hook 'Em! And don't forget your little packets of Mayo for the Fletcher's Corny Dogs at the State Fair of Texas!

I was looking forward to facing off against Mateer but thems are the brakes. We can’t control anything except playing out game play by play, game by game. Kicking OU’s ass is glorious whenever there is an opportunity. First… Florida.

I didn’t say anything about confusing Texas but mind games are part of sports. Make ya have to game plan around 2 qb’s instead of one kinda deal. our defense can handle whoever they throw at us, so I wasn’t worried about it but ya never know it could be a Seth Rollins move ha

Regarding OU spying: As I recall Royal accused Switzer of spying on his practices and offered Switzer his yearly salary if Switzer could pass a lie detector test. There were reports of the coaches seeing a man watching practice from a distance. Switzer refused the lie detector test and called Royal an old man that spent too much time listening to country music. Their feud came to a head in 1976. Gerald Ford was running for president, and somebody convinced him to appear near midfield during pregame alongside Royal and Switzer. The entire stadium booed loudly, and Ford's pregame move backfired largely. The game ended in a 6-6 tie, and it sucked for everyone involved. Any of you old farts with a better memory feel free to add corrections.

2025 Women's Volleyball Thread

Baylor is a very respectable program. I have attended a GMS (Gold Medal Squared) volleyball coaching course there twice. I love seeing how the Lady Longhorns are playing solid all around. -
He may happen to be, but the throws he made in that game were nothing special. His best throw the entire game was a layered throw in the redzone for a touchdown and that was like a ten yard pass. And let's be honest he was playing against a depleted secondary and they lost a guy during the game for targeting. We've seen multiple qbs complete 80-85% of their passes this year. We just seen Arch do it, Sayin did it, Ty Simpson did it as well as a couple others, but not a nal one of them did it versus a formidable defense.

1972 the land thieves had our quick kick figured out before the ball was snapped.

Whatever those guys have to do to redshirt I guess
-
especially a thumb.
-
They're going to need all three weeks to prep Texas now.
-
If Oklahoma didn't have a running game before they reallllllllly don't have one now
-
What if the sun doesn't rise tomorrow?
-
If he was that good, they wouldn't have went out and got Mateer. I'm sure he'll be better by having a better OC, but not enough to seriously threaten this Texas defense.

Mateer thumb injury?
alrightalrightalright replied to Cary Humphrey's topic in On Texas Football Forum
He can redshirt depending how long recovery takes. Let’s annihilate whatever product Florida and OU put out. - Today

What if Hawkins is good now?
-
What was the year Switzer illegally spied Texas like a year after Royal literally taught him the wishbone to save his job? Again, this is karma.
-
Eh they don't need a QB to beat Kent St, but after that omg it could get ugly really quick in conference play

Mateer thumb injury?
Quinncent McManning, Jr. replied to Cary Humphrey's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Here’s to a complete recovery for young Mr Mateer. And then follow coach Arbuckle to start for Okie Lite next year. -
OU went from Texas prep to trying to get a QB ready to play Kent St.

That's if you believe what it's a broken bone and not a torn ligament. OU is very likely lying their butts off about the extent of the injury.
-
This would about the same as when they pushed Bradford back with his broken collar bone for our game, only for it to blow up in their faces when we knocked him out for the rest of the season. Please, OU force him back to face our defense with your poor OL and skill talent.
