I’m convinced now that this is just @CJ Vogel’s alt account.
-
I'll continue to hold my Weiner even if he doesn't get hired away.
-
Just like Sark. The assistants have been exceptional at Texas.
-
They might want someone who has a longer track record than Canham, but your point stands. State is willing to put money into baseball, which makes it a more attractive job than some might think.
-
Him or the Oregon St guy would be the top two candidates for sure. Promise the Oregon St guy tons of NIL and have him in the best baseball conference vs basically no conference.
-
If was State, I’d look at Cliff Godwin at East Carolina. He’s probably the best coach in the country who hasn’t been to Omaha. Even though they’re coaching where they went to school, I’d see if Tim Tadlock or Josh Holiday might want a change of scenery.
-
Clemson has Bakich under contract through 2030. He got locked down when his name started surfacing as a candidate for the Texas job. Mingione is under contract through 2029. I’m sure State would have to pay through the nose to snag a coach from within the conference.

Johnny Nansen stopped at McKinney HS on Monday. A familiar stop for Nansen who recruited Riley Pettijohn all 2025 cycle. -

Kyle Flood and Johnny Nansen made a stop at Melissa HS. Home of Trevor Goosby and Texas OL commit Max Wright. But also 2026 LB Pahyton Porter has been on campus already this spring. -

Something Gerry said on the stream I wanted him to know. Grad transfers can’t enter portal whenever they want anymore. They have from October 1 through last day of spring portal to enter portal. The loophole to this that we started to see was kids who were outside of their window would just not go into the portal and “show up” on campus and be added to the team. The caveat is they aren’t supposed to communicate with coaches before enrolling, but of course we know that isn’t happening. Stupid rule change that happened recently, but that’s where it is for now -
They are gonna hire a head coach, not an assistant. Good job that has won a national championship recently. Clemson HC or Kentucky HC in my opinion.

Do these count towards the director's cup? Asking for a friend.

I read the coaching hot board on the 247 Mississippi State board this morning. Mentioned a couple of assistants (Nolan Cain being one) but all the rest were current head coaches.

His Mother & Brother have come by our tailgate a couple of times, and seem like exceptional folks. I always root for Longhorns, but none more so than Barryn. His steady development while at UT implies hard work. Best of luck to him and his family. 🤘
