tOSU is replacing 2 1st rounders on the OL and will be as good or better? Highly doubt it lol Simmons was a part time player last year as a Freshman. I get your take though: all of tOSU’s first year starters will shock the world and all of Texas’ returning stars and first year starters will disappoint. 😂

FYI you can “ignore” a user by clicking the top right, followed by “account” and then “ignored users.” took me a minute to find, hopefully everyone will find this useful -
Damn. I feel bad for him. For tech, this is the downside of spending a lot for a small number of quality players.

Oh the irony of this post. Love it when the biggest fraud on Texas message boards slips up. -
2008 by about 10.

Bold of you to think OU is going to be playing in meaningful games after November lol

Ohio State has been preparing for Colin Simmons all off season. Likewise, Texas has been focused on the other game changer in Jeremiah Smith. The best way to keep the ‘ball out of Smith’s hands… it’s not just pressure. It’s threatening pressure. In other words, get a young QB’s eyes down as quick as possible. AND, the best way to get eyes down quick is threaten pressure pre-snap in the A and B gaps. There’s no way a young, inexperienced QB, inexperienced RB’s along with a new guard-center-guard combination can be ready for that. I don’t care if you’re playing Western Michigan or St. Mary’s Church the Poor, until you’ve done it (ie handle pressure from ‘backers coming from the A and/or B gaps), it has to be a massive concern. AND, they have to do it in game 1 against elite talent. Hill, Lefau, Tyanthony, Moore and Spence (yes, I know he’s moved to edge) can dance in the A and B gaps pre-snap and either come or drop. They’ll be comfortable moving up and back (ie threatening) pre-snap. A Texas LB’er is going to be the player of the game for shizzle.

Buying good players is fun, having no depth isn’t. glad the kid got paid.

OTF Premium Reshuffling on the OL (Monday 1:50 p.m.)

I, along with a small set of a few others, have put my time, intellect, money and personal risk on the line to help Sarkisian turn this program around while most everyone else sat back and did nothing but offer the trusty ol' "thoughts and prayers" maneuver, almost certainly you included. I was not a fan of the hire in 2021. It didn't stop me from fundamentally helping the dude and the program, and I did so while most everyone sat back and did absolutely nothing to help turn things around. Go play your "nanny nanny boo boo, I'm a better fan than you!" card with someone else or maybe just dump it from your repertoire. It's a lousy forum trope in the first place. -

If Goosby can’t go or is injured again vs OSU, I think you are correct that they may want/need some experience at LT against OSU…..so hopefully we can avoid having our QB lit up in game one. After OSU we have 3 non conference games then a bye week before we play Florida. -
I would give the nod to the 2008 team as well. 2008 team had a much better offense and although the 2009 team had a better defense (less sacks, but more INTs and defensive TDs) the gap in the two defenses is not wide enough for me to put them over the 2008 team.

Innis is a dawg, and will be replacing Egbuka in the slot. I’m not worried about Innis being able to step up, I’m worried will Julian Sayin be able to thread the needle like Will Howard did against Texas. There were 3-4 passes that Will Howard threw that if they were just an inch lower, or a millisecond behind they would have been intercepted. Texas’ defense was outstanding. Ohio State was very fortunate.

Maybe staff thinks Hutson/Robertson/Campbell is the best interior trio and are trying Neto at LT to see how he responds? -

If you have actual information that Goosby’s injury is more severe then spit it out. But if your only evidence of that is OL coaches tinkering with rotations in practice then you should sit down and relax. some are “trust the coaches people” but that’s for sure better than “I’m still pissed that Sark has been somewhat successful because I declared him a fraud in 2021” people like yourself. -

Bobby is onto something, especially when remembering that when DJ Campbell missed practice time early in camp (before Cojoe was injured), they moved Robertson up to the first team and slid Cole Hutson to right guard. It's safe to assume Robertson is in the group of eight guys every O-line coach wants to count on going into a season. Cojoe was trending to be one of those eight before his injury. Does tinkering with Neto at tackle have more to do with how the staff feels about Goosby's injury or something they didn't like from Chatman after reviewing the film? That's my question. It's also possible that Nick Brooks is physically ready to be the No. 3 tackle, but maybe they're trying to find the best veteran option so they don't have to put a true freshman out there if needed against Ohio State. -

Also, if you truly expect Goosby back in a day or two, why run Chatman or Brooks out there for additional snaps and add to injury risk?
