  1. Past hour
  2. Guessing that a guy who makes his rep on outside runs, cutbacks, good hands, and pass pro is a better fit in the B12 than in the SEC or B1G.
  3. Agree, hope he lands well just not in the SEC at Owho or TAMU!! He’s a longhorn legend always and a great player and story. Hate to see his career as a Longhorn end this way. Maybe he’ll look to the NFL instead of transfer portal ultimately so we don’t have to see him in anything other than burnt orange!
  4. I agree, but perhaps he wanted to be able to start in order to have some national exposure to further his career.
  5. Good luck to him. Texas needs a true RB1 and Wisner isn't it. He's an average-to-good player. Excellent person but Texas needs to level up.
  6. Losing Tre really hurts! He was the heart and soul of our running back room and was one of my favorite players. He had so much grit and passion when he toted the rock! Will follow his career for sure.
  7. They can match all they want, but this UF program seems like a disaster right now. I know they’re UF, but even if the new coach does a great job, they’re still in for a rebuild of at least a year, barring some miracle. if I’m Baugh, I want to make the move to a contender, especially if the money is all equal. I’m looking at Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Indiana, Notre Dame, even A&M and OU. And I’d imagine that Juluke, along with a clear path to playing time and competitive NIL, gives us the advantage.
  8. UT is making a smart choice here. Wisner lacks the talent to be a #1 RB in the SEC. Wisner IMO is making a bad choice. Should have come back as a #2 and spent the rest of his life as a UT legend like Rod B, Fozzy Whitaker, Whittington, Roschon, etc.
  9. Cooper will be #3 by conference time. Sark will not be on the Herman Bijan plan.
  10. It goes both ways. UT having to make tough decisions and players also. It’s the system we currently live with.
  11. Wisner can be #1 somewhere, but will that somewhere pay more than Texas would pay for a #2? That seems doubtful to me.
  12. I think speed at RB is kind of overrated, because really the passing game is always going to be better for finding explosive plays. What you really need at RB is the ability to keep the chains moving, pick up short yardage and run in the red zone, and unfortunately Wisner wasn't good at the later two of those.
  13. It's a good move all around; he can be #1 at any number of colleges. On the other side we are probing the portal for a power back, and have one coming in (Cooper).
  14. Ha time to go fishing in the portal!
  15. @Jeff Howe here’s my theory: the coaches want to recreate the RB combination they thought they were getting in 2024 with Baxter and Blue (before Baxter’s injury): the bigger, do-everything back as RB1 complemented by a homerun hitter with blazing speed who can score from anywhere on the field. Unfortunately, Wisner doesn’t fit either role. I suspect he would have seen his touches diminish if Sark gets the RB combination he’d like out of the portal.
  16. While it will suck for sure, as I was a fan of his and he showed up for us in big games consistently the past two years….. but if it comes down to he wanted more money or he wasn’t happy hearing us “going after another RB1” then I get it. He deserves to get paid and he will flourish if he finds the right fit for his next stop. sounds like we couldn’t guarantee what he wanted to hear and he felt it was best to move on. More power to him for betting on himself and trying to get paid. Can’t be mad at that no matter who it is. thank you Tre for what you did for us and good luck out there. 🤘
  17. Today
  18. So true on your second thought. Many guys that are clean shaven for years don't grow a goatee or some kind of beard until later in life when they start losing hair. I did it another way. I have had a beard since I was 18 and now have no hair on top and my beard and remaining hair are gray.
  19. I'd guess that hope would be for Cooper to be higher than that... 🤘
  20. I absolutely hate to see Tre go but I completely understand both sides. Looking onward though, I’m a little concerned about the leadership for next year. Tre was a significant leader to this team as was Taaffe. Do you see us struggling from a leadership perspective without them and who do you think could be in line to step up and fill in those gaps?
  21. I hate losing Wisner but this is the nature of the business. Also, you let Wisner walk when he’s commanding a lot of money and you have Moby Dick on the hook. I got my wish. I wanted the most overpaid room in college football to be culled and it was. Now Wisner and Simon I hoped to keep at the right price. All In
  22. Thank you Tre Wisner and good luck on and off the field.
  23. My best guess starts with portal at 1 and 2.
