  1. Past hour
  2. To your point, there seems to be a lack of killer instinct. Mauling guys, etc. At least I've not seen it.
  3. I think it depends on what Sark does with the offense. If you hire an OC/QB coach, they typically want their own guy for the OL. If he doesn't go that route which one of these fit with what Sark does offensively?
  4. Reminds me that Sark has been a very bad 3rd qtr coach since 2021 when Caleb went in for Rattler. Texas was winning 38-10 at the half and only managed 3 pts in 3rd and 7pts in 4th. Regardless, of Texas’ porous run defense and PK’s inability to stop the run, Sark should have been able to put more points on the board. ou’s D was horrible back then.
  5. I know people say Flood is good at T's but outside of Banks I just don't see it. Banks would've been great anywhere, imo. Maybe I'm wrong. But there does need to be some serious eval's into why that room is always a weak point. Is it S&C, is it Flood, is it Sark, is it the scheme? Combination of all? Who really knows. But it's obvious that something isn't working and hasn't been working all that well for a while;.
  6. Banks was the exception because he had the discipline to want to be great himself. I recall a story where Quinn (I think) came into the weight room while Banks was doing squats and made a joke and he said Banks just gave him this look that was basically "I'm working here, no time for jokes". We need some nasty on the Oline like Casey Studdard. There are times when I see Arch get popped and the defense talking crap to Arch and the Oline just looks at them and does nothing. Studdard and the old school linemen would have made sure those fools talking took some punishment.
  7. Today
  8. Marcus Spears Jr... post game on ESPN https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/50365595
  9. Still think Arch does not transfer just goes pro. But, we will see.
  10. 13 made three's .. second most in Sean Miller era ... made 16-32 in Maui vs NC State
  11. That's it for Sean Miller and for the postgame press conference. A good opening night for the local cagers is in the books!
  12. Miller: "You don't have to speed Austin up. You have to pull him back... He's a smart guy. We're asking him to do a lot, but he's made for it. That's why he came here."
  13. There's a lot that goes into playing point guard. Miller said playing both guard spots is a great way for Goosby to develop. Miller felt Goosby learned a lot from the St. John's experience.
  14. Austin Goosby is playing point guard and off the ball. Whether he's on the ball or not, Miller wants Goosby to be a playmaker.
  15. When asked about Oklahoma's loss to East Texas A&M (who Texas plays later in non-conference play), Miller said that in the early part of the season, it's about improving and being ready for every game.
  16. Miller on Punch: "I'm not worried about him. He could score 20 points in the next game."
  17. Miller liked that David Punch finished the game with three assists and no turnovers. Like Matas, Miller and Texas need Punch to be a tone-setter, he said.
  18. Marcus Spears Jr.'s rim protection gives Texas an element it didn't have last season, Miller said.
  19. Miller liked that Texas only had 10 turnovers against a Chicago State team that can muck the game up and turn you over. Specifically, Isaiah Johnson and Austin Goosby had four combined turnovers in the first half and finished the game with four.
  20. Miller: "When you look at our stat sheet this year, we'll have a balanced roster."
  21. Miller said Texas didn't pass the test at MSG against St. John's. They were better in the second half, "but you've got to be ready from the start," he said. It was a difficult trip, but Miller said it was, "difficult in a lot of good ways." Texas was "better and ready tonight" than they would've been had they not had the St. John's experience.
  22. Very important role player... good to put some makes on tape tonight
  23. Amari Evans "can play a really good game and not make a three," Miller said. He's a capable shooter with winning experience from one season at Tennessee. Miller loves Evans' physicality. "He's invaluable for us in that role," Miller said, referring to Evans' physicality on defense.
