  1. Past hour
  2. Texas has gotten it’s share of benefits of doubt just other teams.
  3. Gotta feel for the kid…hopefully we get to see him at his best at some point
  4. Pre snap penalties are lack of focus others are poor technique, both are correctable.
  5. Who knows how healthy he ever has been. My best bet is only DJ knows that answer.
  6. There’s a significant piece that we don’t get the benefit of the doubt some teams do. And we’ve produced quite a few NFL defenders over the years even prior to the past two years so it’s not like our opponents overwhelmed us with their talent. We’ve had a number of borderline holds called on us and ignored on our opponents.
  7. Expected to be back vs Texas, but who knows how healthy he will be.
  8. For those not wanting to click thru the link: • Texas: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M • Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi State • Arkansas: LSU, Texas, Missouri • Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt • Georgia: Auburn, Florida, South Carolina • Florida: Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina • Kentucky: Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee • LSU: Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas • Mississippi State: Alabama, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt • Missouri: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M • Oklahoma: Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas • Ole Miss: LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma • South Carolina: Georgia, Florida, Kentucky • Tennessee: Alabama, Kentucky, Vanderbilt • Texas A&M: LSU, Missouri, Texas • Vanderbilt: Auburn, Mississippi State, Tennessee
  9. Holding has always been a big problem with the OL. Christian jones and cam Williams would always get called for it. Seems like it’s an issue Flood hasn’t been able to correct over the years. I think the false starts will get fixed throughout the season as the offense gels some more
  10. I preached this last year iI believe 2022 and 2023 we had more yards or penalties in almost every game than our opponent. same ole same ole. last year started bad but got better
  11. Awesome recognition for Ella who has had a great bounce back season after losing her starting spot at times last season. Our hitters are killing it (literally) and it all starts with the assists from Ella.
  12. Go ahead and give her SEC Freshman of the year! And she will battle her teammate, Torrey Stafford, for SEC player of the year!
  13. Today
  14. Have them do up downs till Bobby is tired lol
  15. Is it a feature under Sark, or is it a feature of being at Texas? In the last 15 years, we have never once ranked better than 40th in penalties. Here is some years further back than what you listed: 2020- 116th (8.2) 2019- 115th (7.3) 2018- 109th (7.4) 2017- 106th (7.1) 2016- 102nd (7.1) 2015- 79th (6.4) 2014- 65th (5.9) 2013- 45th (5.2) 2012- 40th (5.2) 2011- 81st (6.5) -Texas gets officiated differently from other teams, whether intentionally or unintentionally. We went the entire 2023 season with 1 accepted holding penalty against our opponent in Big 12 play. 15 years in a row being one of the most penalized teams in the country under 4 different coaches. That isn't just a coincidence. -Timing of penalties. On Saturday, 3 of our 9 penalties were on the final offensive drive with third-stringers in the game. 4 of our 12 penalties against SJSU came on the final two drives with backups in the game. A lot of the miscues have been at the very beginning or very end of games. -Penalties are up across the country. Last year, only 26 total teams averaged more than 7 penalties a game. Currently, 49 teams are averaging 7 or more penalties. -All you can do is try to emphasize it the best you can. There isn't a magic wand.
  16. What I thought was important was how the team came out in the second half. Regardless of opponent, being able to continue through the halftime break and still be hot for the offense was crucial in that confidence boost. One day at a time, one practice at a time, one game at a time. Trust the process.
  17. What is everyone's thoughts on penalties? Being a highly penalized team just seems to be a feature under Sark. What can be done to fix this moving forward, can it be fixed? Year - NCAA Rank(Penalties Per Game) 2024 - 94(6.4) 2023 - 99(6.6) 2022 - 68(6.1) 2021 - 58(5.8) As far as 2025 goes this is what we're looking at through non-conference: 2025 - 121(8.5)
  18. Or really, really good. Depending on your perspective.
  19. According to the ESPN app, the Florida game on 10/4 will be at 2:30pm. We catch a break avoiding a night game in the Swamp.

  20. You tell us hoss. CJ had a nice clip of Brooks posted on this site.
  21. Backup NFL QB has to be the best jobs in sports, especially if you're considered one of the top backups in the league. Career Earnings of Notable Backups: Chase Daniel - 4+ mill Colt McCoy - 25+ mill Jacoby Brisett - 30+ mill Tyrod Taylor - 40+ mill Andy Dalton - 30+ mill Marcus Mariota - 30+ mill Gardner Minshew - 15+ mill Jameis and Wentz will end up making a ton as backups.
  22. But nothing NFL was posted ... that's just you. Colt McCoy held a clip board for 20+ million, but played at a very high level in college without being a high-end down field arm talent. As far as Mendoza and ability to make throws down the field ... he made plenty at Cal last year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWbZ4TkIRo&t=131s He'll be an interesting NFL eval prospect
  23. If I recall correctly Peyton started because the top 2 QBs got hurt, right?
  24. We'll find out how much this offensive line has improved in these next two games that's for sure.
