  2. He'll be a short spurt player rim protector. Rim protector and paint defender. I'm not sure it changes much, but it's nice to have in spurts
  3. Today
  4. Thanks Jeff...super excited for the season and the coverage that you and Gerry will provide on OTF for Texas Hoops!
  5. Interesting that Texas has beaten three of the four lowest 3 and out teams! Hmmmm .... Perhaps turnover margins are more relevant? Short punting certainly could become a problem. 🀘🏻🀘🏻🀘🀘🏽🀘🏾🀘🏿
  6. I have always loved hard hedging with connectivity for proper rotations. Sean Miller is brilliant. Thanks for the nugget.
  7. Joe Sterling needs to be on the court as a free throw shooter when teams foul at ends of games. Weaponize my boy. 🀘
  8. Marcus spears will definitely start at some point this year and have ability to run the offense as a point forward. He is a modern day Michael beasley/Chris bosh type player. Will absolutely have the ability to play the 3 and be a better ball handler than most people have projected.
  9. Builds? Against mizzou and lsu?!
  10. I mean who are you going to bet on
  11. It is an absolute miracle the things that Kyle Flood is able to get away with.
  12. ugh! on the bright side, Sark at least called some screens against MSU. Now if he could also call some tight end slants to slow up the blitzing that we know is forthcoming.
  13. His ability to develop T's is a bit overrated imo. I doubt Flood will stick around if he's demoted.
  14. I actually think you're right. My guess is he'll demote Banks to TE's coach and find a special teams coordinator. Maybe he'll make Banks full time special teams coordinator and promote Stefve Casula to TE's coach?
  15. Is Missouri yet another veer and shoot offense we will play?
  16. Well he's had plenty of time to find someone to run the offensive side of the ball and hasn't. So I'm just going off what he's said and his own actions. Now apparently someone told me he gave up play calling at USC but who really knows. I guess we'll see what happens in the off-season.
  17. CDC gets literally zero say in any of this lol. He's a mouth piece, that's about it.
  18. I've heard him say it other times even during the off season. He's even said it was the reason he got the job at Texas. I just don't see him giving it up, I've heard him say it too many times. You're also forgetting that Texas still owes him a large buyout and he could easily get another less stressful job if he wants. Just my two cents anyway.
  19. KJ transfers, Arch comes back, Milwee calls plays, and Texas wins a Natty?
  20. Inexcusable ineptness with an offensive minded head coach, an offense full of draft picks, one of the highest NIL budgets, in year 6, with a quarterback on campus for four years.
  21. Yeah, I’ll hold off on acting like he’ll tear it up until proven on the field. Still folks are here dumbfounded arch looks the way he does. The same ones screaming to bench quinn in 2023 and 2024.
  22. A full look at the conference 3-and-out rate. Has not been a fun statistic to update each week.
  23. Trend to Watch for Saturday *** Back with another statistic that isn't too favorable for the Texas offense. I know, I know. It's not very fun to talk about, and I am sure this is a point that is getting tiresome. But it quite literally could not have a larger discrepancy in conference rankings. We are back talking about three-and-out rates on offense. For a few weeks now, I have been tracking SEC offenses and their likeliness to punt after failing to gain ten yards and move the chains on their first three plays of a drive. It has been a true Achilles heel for the Texas offense so far this season, and the number has continued to rise over the last couple of weeks – How? Well, I don't want to get into that. But, here is the key statistic. *** Texas has the highest 3-and-out rate in the SEC so far this season. In eight games, the Longhorns have a 31.25% rate of going 3-and-out on offensive drives. On 96 drives, the Longhorns have punted after three plays on 30 so far this season. A sobering statistic. *** On the flipside, Missouri is the very best in the country at moving the chains on a given drive. Missouri has the lowest 3-and-out rate in the SEC so far at 12.12%. Only 12 of the Tigers' 99 offensive drives have gone 3-and-out. *** So when it comes to game flow, and when it comes to finding a way to play complementary football, there is no statistic that I have found so far in my early game prep that leads me to think the flow of the game will be more heavily dictated than one way or the other. How can Texas help itself out? No false starts, five men in the backfield penalties, or illegal shifts. The Longhorns had one of each against Mississippi State on Saturday in the 31–3 victory. Playing on the road is difficult in the SEC, Texas doesn't need to make it tougher than it already is.
