OTF Premium 5-star WR on campus
LovingBuckeye replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
"Arthur Smith is the opposite of what y'all's team wants" Obviously this isn't true or Ryan Day would not have hired him. It is also not cope, I have watched every single snap of Ohio State football since 1998. Hartline is the best WR recruiter in the history of the sport, Hartline is one of the best WR coaches in the history of the sport. Brian Hartline was an inexperienced offensive coordinator who struggled with play calling. If you want to say that Ohio State's WR recruiting will dip in the future, that might be true. If you want to say Ohio State's WR's won't be as well coached in the future, that might be true. Ohio State's offensive identity and play calling will be much better under Arthur Smith. -
That’s cope. Arthur Smith is the opposite of what y’all’s team wants. He is run heavy, always has been when y’all’s strength is QB and WRs specifically.

Texas is also a different team this season, with an ELITE WR corp. It doesn't mean Ohio State can beat Texas three straight years, but Ohio State's coaching staff is better this season without Hartline than it was last season with Hartline. That is because there is no more experimenting with Hartline as offensive coordinator. Now we have a legit NFL OC running the offense. Again, that doesn't mean we will beat Texas, but in the long run Ohio State is in a better position (coaching wise) this season than they were last season. -
I like to think that I am looking at it from a "blue blood" perspective, of which Texas is included. No true blueblood looks for an excuse to schedule weak opponents. I understand why Indiana, and Ole Miss, and Texas Tech would do it. There is no excuse for Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, or Alabama to do it. Even if the playoff committee gives you an easy out.

Vic Schaefer has made at least an Elite Eight appearance in all but one season since he's been the HWBBC at Texas. My expectations are definitely tempered for next season until I see how this freshman class grows over the course of this upcoming season. I'm thinking Sweet Sixteen is the worst-case scenario (barring injuries), but I could see an Elite Eight appearance was well. I do not see Final Four with this team as it's currently constructed, but I hope I'm wrong. -

I’ll check on the code itself. Meanwhile, my only thought is that maybe you already used another code within the time frame allowed.

Good points. Jordan Lee was our biggest loss. Unfortunately, her parents saw her as their piggy bank. -

You're overrating Bjorn particularly this first year. Losing Lee is a huge loss. She's got unlimited stamina, knows Vic's defensive scheme inside and out, and is a vet would have been a leader in the locker. She would have been a superstar for us her senior year once Booker left. I'm hoping Vann can fill some of that void but Bjorn needs at least a year to really get comfortable. She didn't look that great in McDonald's workouts/games and the other all-star games compared to the other top incoming freshman. There's been some comparisons to her and Shay Holle which isn't a bad one but I'd hope she ends up being better. But I do agree Itute will eventually be an upgrade from Carlton and Crittendon can be an immediate contributor. I still need to be convince that Preston can run the team consistently for the whole season. She's had solid games but still had moments of immaturity. Plus she needs to elevate her defense a notch as well. Defense will be the measuring stick for where the team is at. Watching Rori, Lee, and Booker defending in unison was beautiful to watch at times. It will take a least half the season to maybe even get to that point with so many new players. -
It's amazing for the school and what a crazy donation. I wonder if it'll create a wave of billionaires donating crazy amounts to their alma maters now. The important question is if any of it is going towards football. 🤣
