Arch Not Seeing Field in Picture Format

Sometimes people can’t accept the truth on here. The whole team didn’t play well Saturday. Arch included. I’d bet he’d tell you that too. -

He’s not seeing the field well. He is missing wide open WRs in addition to not having time to throw at times. -
Please tell me he's gone

I am going to miss Hashtag.com

Thank you Bobby. I subscribed for your team’s opinions and recruiting news, not other subscribers who are aspiring coaches or pundits. While I appreciate the views of alot of other members, I don’t enjoy the personal attacks and superior attitudes. Hook Em!
-
Besides you have the best content and personalities over the others
-
Thank you Bobby! Glad you’re doing this because it’s the reason I left InsideTexas.com 3 years ago to follow you and the guys! Tired of all that crap. 🤘

Arch Not Seeing Field in Picture Format

I don't get this. Arch is much better at avoiding sacks than most. He misses throws. He makes throws. Defense screwed us against Florida. What do you want? -
Appreciate this. Thank you and understood.

Wear and tear brotha. And to be clear I don't think you're wrong in your assessment, I just think an argument could be made both ways and we don't have a large enough sample size with the expanded CFP to know what the right approach is.

Cj Baxters injury occurred after a whistle and had nothing to do with physicality. Brooks injury occurred during a game and was a freak injury
-
Thank you Bobby! I had never “ignored” a poster until recently and a couple posters were lessening the experience/environment.
-
Thanks Bobby!

Thanks. I have already put several on my ignore list and I don't like doing that.

We all love it here because from the beginning it’s just been a bunch of folks who want to talk about Texas sports without any drama or conflict. That’s what makes this place special (along with the best-in-the-business content). I think 99% of users fully support this message and your board moderation policies, Bobby. Keep up the amazing work!

You know you are doing well with the business when the potatoes start to join. Love this board, Bobby

Arch Not Seeing Field in Picture Format
Neil Leininger replied to Hashtag's topic in On Texas Football Forum
He's playing like a QB that has no confidence in his OL + he just doesn't see the field + he can't read defenses at a level that a 3rd year QB should be able to read. Murray's video was pretty much spot on. The OL played horrible, but Arch had plenty of chances to put more than 21 points on the board. This is just going to be a frustrating season because Arch needs to be playing a much higher level to make up for the OL because they can't guarantee consistent protection or a running game to take pressure off. -
Bad for sports. Will open more cans of worms.

You said our problem isn't passion or toughness, then called out DJ Campbell. I would venture that having passion and toughness would remedy what you talked about. If you're passionate about your play, like Tony talked about, you'd be doing the little things throughout the week to ensure you play at an optimal level on Saturday. If you're passionate on Saturdays, that becomes infectious and should cause your teammates to look within and ask if they want to match your passion, or get out of the way. And toughness? You either got it or you don't. Coach Ship brings up Kasey Studdard all the time as an example of toughness. I don't mean this in a condescending way, but if you've never played in the trenches before, it really is a fight every play, and you better have the will to bring it, or get out of the way.

What if the physicality level of practices last year contributed to CJ Baxter's injury? What if it contributed to Jonathan Brooks' injury the year before? What if there was a philosophical shift sooner to reduce the wear and tear on the players and both of those guys were available for the CFP runs? What if having them healthy gave us the pieces we needed to make it to and possibly win a championship? Two sides to every coin. Had their been more injuries in spring camp I have a feeling you'd be making the counterargument now. Long season ahead and there have been highs and lows the last two seasons, both of which were a success.

Correct. If the defense is running a zero blitz probably shouldn't wait on a long concept to develop etc. Get the ball out quickly even if it is a go route one on one for a playmaker with no safety help. The quarterback has to survey and constantly evaluate what the defense is giving him and adjust accordingly based on pressure and coverage. Generally pass play concepts have a designed first read and progressions are established but obviously must be adjusted to on the fly based on disguise and defensive scheme. Processing speed is the most underrated attribute of a QB. Ray Lewis once said the most impressive thing by Tom Brady on a 3rd and 8 was looking off the deep routes and dumping it to Kevin Faulk underneath who made a man miss and got 9 to ice a game. Take what's there, sometimes keeping it simple is best.
