Hate to say it, but the Aggies were impressive!

I was watching all the games wishing we had a QB that could make ANY of those throws...Who knew we'd have the worst QB in the SEC..it's kinda funny at this point. -
Remember Steve Sax of the Dodgers?

Remember Sax. I thought he overcame his issues. what gives me some hope on arch is last year 1st start 16-29. Next week 26-31 and 325 yards passing. He needs to wipe the slate clean. He’s not perfect. Just relax and have fun. -

Honestly, that’s a bit alarming considering this is Year 5 under Sark. At this point, the team should be more than just ‘getting by.’ Talent is stacked, yet we’re still struggling to look beyond Sam Houston. Meanwhile, other programs, even ones inheriting messy situations like Elko at A&M, are already winning big games, three top-10 wins in just 16 games. Sark, on the other hand, is 3-8 in year five against top-15 teams. The difference in big game execution is glaring and should be sounding alarm bells. -

In all honestly, I can’t looked beyond Sam Houston with this team right now. You don’t have time to envy your neighbor’s house when yours is in dire need of repair. -

Man if only Texas had a coach who could focus solely on offense and creating the best possible opportunity to win. What a novel concept -
I'm beginning to wonder what Becton's test revealed. Maybe it was a foreshadowing of a mediocre season so they didn't let the results out.

They have a good offense but they have averaged at least 25ppg on defense so far this year. Their offense can only carry for so long. Kinda makes me wish we had an offense though -

I’m not as familiar with Sax, but happened with Chuck Knoblauch, too. Rooting for Arch to regain his confidence and overcome the struggles that he’s dealing with. -

I think their defensive issues catch up to them at some point, but their offense is much improved from a season ago. Looking at their schedule, they should win at least 10 and be a CFP lock. Might even get to Atlanta. -
The best thing he has done in a game all season is let the defense play, and let the kickers kick. Sark gets paid 10 million dollars to field a good quarterback and a put out a good offensive product and we go neither. A FCS quarterback has better accuracy than Arch right now and that’s an issue. The main question now is Arch just not that good? And is sark the Quarterback and offense wizard we thought he was…idk if he has earned that right anymore, definitely not QB wise. B. We should be worried about SEC play, if our Oline can’t get push against SJSU and UTEP then all we can do is pray and hope. C. The offense looks slow and undisciplined. We should have gone to the portal to replace some of the interior and a speedy WR. It feels like we have 0 stars on that side of the ball right now. D. Florida vs Texas will be a very very very ugly game for both teams

It could be worse look at ND and Clemson with their struggles. It is a long season and I’d rather be slumping now than at the end of the season. Let TAMU and OU have their flowers now. We just need to focus on getting better offensively and we’ll start gelling and hitting on all cylinders. Would like to see some anger, intensity, and fight on the o-line.

Texas at Crossroads: Arch shouldn’t bear all blame
TexasHorn2801 replied to TexasHorn2801's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I agree if there is anybody that deserves to be paid the most it is PK, and the wonders he has done. But you’re right the semifinals may be truly the ceiling and I started to notice it last year because of Sark’s consistent lack of accountability in my opinion is resulting in his downfall. Sadly Sark appears to be a stepping stone when many including I thought he was the answer. -
He was a second baseman who one day couldn't make the throw to first base. He had to quit playing because of his errant throws. Once that gets into the psyche of a player, it's tough to regain the confidence. So with Arch, you have mechanics, the yips, and the inability to let it loose. We all see it. Sark has a conundrum. His prized pupil can't complete a pass! What to do? The only solution is to sit him down and start the experienced transfer. He must before it gets worse.

After 3 games-what do you think the ceiling and floor is for the rest of the season? Ceiling: 9-3 Floor: 5-7
-
That last part is the key. Sark’s career and legacy at Texas are riding on these next two years with Arch. He probably won’t get fired, but I could definitely see him take an NFL job before the entire program collapses. After the Jack Sawyer scoop and score, I kept asking is this it? Is this Sark’s ceiling here? So far, unless drastic changes happen, the answer is most likely yes. Wild how quickly things can change in the era of NIL and the portal. It starts with Sark, but the entire offensive staff doesn’t seem to work well together. I thought by year three, Texas would have a top 10 offense every year, but the same issues remain every year. I would be raising hell if I were PK. Him and his staff have put in all this work to build top 10 defenses year in and year out, yet the offense can’t even execute middle school level plays. It’s sad.

Other coaches swallowed their pride and handed off play calling duties. Their reward? BECOMING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Enough is enough, Sark. -
