He arrived here as kind of a gunslinger who could make all the throws. He left here as.... not that. It's like the best parts of his game got coached out of him (not purposefully, I'm sure). After the 2022 OU game, there was talk about how if he had been eligible for the draft that year, he might have gone number one overall. To go in the seventh round two years later is astounding. He was making throws in that OU game and in the first quarter of the Bama game that he never really made again.

Any recommendations for purchasing two tickets for the Georgia game? -

I got diagnosed with (testicular) cancer about a month ago - have a good prognosis but am starting my first chemo round next week. I seem to have caught it relatively early/had surgery right away, but it was still scary as hell to have heard that news... Cancer doesn't discriminate (i had no major health problems in my life before this), so use this as a way to scare you into going to the doctor for regular checkups if not for anything else. -
He's not an NFL QB. There were times last year like Kentucky and A&M games where he was just cratering and we had to completely take the air out of the ball. Even if he was Tom Brady mentally, he doesn't have the physical talent for that level either. Is what it is.

Ya think? Just to bring you up to speed, my initial response was to a poster who couldn’t remember or never read posts regarding Vince, Colt or Sam during their training camps/exhibition games. I kindly pointed out there were loads back in the day. What that had to do with their respective performances at Texas or how their NFL careers evolved is beyond me.
-
It is quite literally why he will be scrutinized.

What does that to do with posts about their respective NFL performances?

For Those Going to the Ohio State Game…..

Appreciate this thread. Also, we will be having a Happy Hour on Friday if you get to Columbus early! -
Quinn was fortunate Sark was so loyal to him.
-
But it does give them more lead way with Texas fans. They left it all on the field and with Ewers it felt like he left a lot to be desired, especially considering the team talent around him. Either way it's a complete deflection away from Quinn to even bring them up.
-
Which has nothing to do with his comment.

Sam, Colt, and even Vince are having and had good careers in the NFL. I’ll take millions to tote a clipboard. And they perform when they have to come in a game in a mi yes notice and can win games. It’s the highest level of football in the world. Being second string ain’t bad.

20 Days Until Kickoff — Earl Campbell
dentonhorn replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Thing about it, sometimes the highlights are great but the handpicked best plays of someone’s career. Geez, Earl was a highlight damn near ever time he was handed the ball. One on one with Earl, RIP. -
Sam does not suck as an NFL quarterback. He is in year 5, was heavily pursued by teams after his rookie deal was up (he rightfully did not want to re-sign with Colts). Just because he isnt a starter doesnt mean he’s not good. Backup qb in the NFL is literally the dream job lol. I also think he has qualified for NFL Pension. For a college qb that was never viewed as a pro prospect, that’s damn good.
-
Brock Purdy, act II ? I mean I agree with you that guys are piling on Quinn right now, for various reasons. But he was pretty bad for the Dolphins ... both things can be true. I'm not a Quinn basher myself, but there's truth in much of the criticism.
-
I don't think anyone is kicking him while he's down, just bringing up facts. He had a horrible game, hopefully he'll rebound.
-
Vince was rookie of the year and a pro bowler. Colt had a 10+ year career in the nfl. Quinn I don’t think will touch either of those.
-
You may be correct in your assessment, but we're talking about the NFL.
-
Well also both accomplished more at Texas than Ewers.
-
So what is it we're expecting from a 7th round qb? People are acting as if he was drafted 1/1, what is fun about bashing a 7th round qb? Isn't that kicking a man when he's already down?
-
Well, they were all over the boards way back then. You’re welcome.
-
2 are retired and the other one holds a clipboard most Sundays. Would be a fun thread, amirite?
-
Nope but I'm here now. Sam is still in the league so my point still stands. There are no threads about how much he sucks as a NFL quarterback.
