  2. The winner of the American Conference is most likely going to be selected to the College Football Playoff as the 12 seed, even if they aren't ranked in the CFP Top 25, just like Memphis was this past Tuesday. After beating Memphis last night, Tulane has taken a step closer toward the CFP. Five teams in the American have 1 conference loss: Navy, South Florida, North Texas, Tulane, and East Carolina. East Carolina carries 3 losses overall, so if they won the conference, they would likely not be the committee's selection. - - - - - - Resumes Tulane and South Florida each have wins over Power 4 Teams: Tulane: Northwestern, Duke South Florida: Florida South Florida has the H2H win over North Texas. Tulane has H2H wins over East Carolina and Memphis. Navy plays Notre Dame later today in non-conference. A win would be a boon for their resume. - - - - - - Remaining Schedules Navy has South Florida and Memphis left on their schedule. Tulane and North Texas are through the difficult part of their schedule and will look to finish 7-1 in conference. Navy: South Florida, @ Memphis, Army South Florida: @ Navy, @ UAB, Rice Memphis: @ East Carolina, Navy North Texas: @ UAB, @ Rice, Temple Tulane: FAU, @ Temple, Charlotte East Carolina: @ UTSA, @ FAU It should be a very interesting finish as these teams not only fight for the American Conference Championship, but a spot in the CFP, too. - - - - - - Chances Outside the American San Diego State sits 7-1 overall in the Mountain West with a 34-0 win over California (the Aztecs are the only true contender in the Mountain West for the 12th Playoff spot as Boise State lost to South Florida and has 3 losses on the year. James Madison sits 7-1 overall in the Sun Belt. Even without a strong resume, finishing their schedule at 11-1 gives them a shot at the Playoff if the American Conference teams cannibalize themselves.
  3. DO, I’m with you here. The LG position has presented the biggest question all season. Neto is one part of it but also no Robertson, particularly given Hutsons work having been at Guard leading into the season. The Brooks decision makes little sense and even less so now. I’d go Stroh over Brooks if we need to play one.
  4. 5-9, 175'ish Super quick and fast Super headache ... apparently He should go to an FIU, San Jose State, UTEP type, zip around the field and put up numbers next year
  5. I disagree. Quinn was excellent pre snap at adjusting to what he was seeing with the line and knowing where to go with the ball. Which meant the ball came out quickly. A QB who can get the ball out quickly and process would have made the line look less bad than they are. Arch’s problems were that he wasn’t recognizing pre or post snap where to go and was holding ball a long time and/or delivering late. And no QB will be good when they’re getting hitting within a second of the snap.
  6. I would think they want a bigger fish than that and should have the $$$ to do it with Gibson out, Wisner going pro, and possibly Stewart entering the portal. Who knows what Baxter does after this season as well.
  7. He is a walking red flag
  8. Bruiser RB from Kstate plans to enter portal. Would sark pick him up?
  9. Today
  10. Jeff Traylor is 50-25 at UTSA with two Conference Coach of the Year awards, and two C-USA titles. That won't be replicated by any of the next coaches if UTSA doesn't step up.
  11. If Texas gets Goosby, he would turn down nearly double the NIL deal from BYU. He wants to be at Texas IMO But man, it would be tough to walk away from at the same time.
  12. Sounds like Traylor is setting the table for justifying his eventual exit.
  13. Chris Jackson was by Panther Creek Thursday. Sark and Jackson were at Lott's game Friday night.
  14. Not sure where he fits, will going to Okie State be an upgrade? Sure it's in the Big 12, but is the support there? Arky is apparently leaning heavy towards the Memphis HC. LSU, Penn State and Florida are not going to hire him. Just not sure where he fits.
  15. They have better athletes but they have also struggled on their defensive front. I'm sure they'll get up for Texas but if you can protect Arch again, we'll be able to shred their secondary. More 11 personnel will keep their LB's from just loading the box. It'll be a tough game for sure, but Hutson is better at G than he is C.
  16. They definitely have great athletes but they are new athletes, developing athletes. Id stick with the last five which is the best I think Texas has to offer. Goosby, Hutson, Robertson, Campbell and Baker. Id prefer stroh over Brooks at guard. I think connor Stroh is a better guard than Nick Brooks no doubt about it.
  17. No idea, but I'd wait after Georgia to talk about putting Brooks at LG as a liability or why didn't they immediately put hutson there. Georgia's got much better atheltes than vanderbilt. Until they prove me wrong in Athens my take is that we outschemed Vandy. Hard to outscheme Georgia.
  18. I'm not in the room and I'm hard headed. Why would they ever even think of utilizing Nick Brooks as a guard? I asked it when they did it and in my opinion as much as we want to kiss his ass on upside hes an absolute liability at left guard as a true freshman.
  19. Going to a spurs game but it looks like Arch is probably staying in Texas for the weekend, he’s locked in for Georgia🤘🤘
  20. Wow, thank you Jeff. I knew Arch has been handling pressure and blitzes well but I didn’t know he was doing it to that extent. If with this new rotation we can provide more protection going forward then maybe the first 7 games weren’t bad for Arch from learning POV, letting him feel what getting pressured constantly feels like and how you avoid it/work against it. Hearing these stats I think the OL against georgia has got to be good enough for Arch to get the ball out after 2.5 seconds on most drop backs, The occasional pressures Arch can handle smoothly. If the Arch that is accurate with the football shows up I really like our chances, at least on the offensive side of the ball. Really good read
