Walls could be a starter or reliever. He might be able to close. Two starters should be Volantis and Cozart. Other starter candidates beside Walls include: Winter, RHP Crossland, RHP Kaleb Rogers, RHP Jack McKernan, LHP Jason Flores, RHP (portal candidate but would love to see him harness that 98 MPH fastball) Maybe another current freshman or 2 might be ready. And that doesn’t include the incoming freshman pitchers that could start or relieve. There could be 7 freshman pitchers or more make it to campus once the MLB draft is done.

You would have lived ellis mania. Went to it in vegas one time. They had a blindfolded mma royal rumble where everyone wore shock collars and celebrities controlled them. we lived in oregon and had a house in Redmond for a while. that part of the state tends to be more Oregon State oriented than Oregon. The other side of the mountains seemed to be a bit more U. Oregon fans. Redmond and Bend are nice areas and Central Oregon was my favorite part of the state.

I also am not sure that all batters should be waiting 2 or 3 pitches before taking a swing hoping to find their pitch. We get too many 0 and 2 counts and batters with not much bat control invariably chase bad pitches at that point. Some batters are good first pitch hitters and scouting reports tell you how good an opposing pitcher is at throwing first pitch strikes and what kind of pitch he relies.

@Jeff Howei thought the bullpen would be the death of us. I definitely didnt have our offense sinking the team on my bingo card. We gotta shore up the bottom of the rotation

Another key part of this hire is that he teaches infield. BIG time infield teacher (think like Stapleton). The offense and infield both got better today.
