#1 Interior OL: Every G/C with a heartbeat should be on the board. C + LG have been a weekly horror show. Do what we did at DL last year: 2 real starters, 1–2 developmental guys, move on. #2 RB: If Baugh hits the portal, that’s the whole meeting. Lacy too. We don’t need another “nice rotational back” after what we just watched—go get a bellcow or stand pat. #3 WR (only if it’s real): Not spending big NIL on “slightly better Mosley” types when OL is on fire. If we pay at WR, make it speed or a true WR1, not another Wingo cousin. Everything else: 1 ILB, 1 vet CB, maybe a blocking TE—cool, after the above is handled. Those are sides. The meal is OL + RB. Portal tampering already started, the rules are decorative, and chaos is the only constant. Buckle up.

@CJ Vogel do you see Texas going after LSU WR or RB that enterend the portal? Think it was Bullett and Dunham

This should hopefully be a fun portal season this year. Hoping sark goes all in for possibly arch’s last season.

CJ, positionally speaking, where do you think Texas will emphasize most in the portal this cycle — and which spots are now clear must-add versus luxury adds?

Ah the Gene stallings championship team for Bama in 92 was fun to watch. I remember David Palmer/Derek Lassic on offense and George Teague on defense…. Funny how seeing stallings name triggered that memory even though he was an Aggie. Ha

Thanks for the info. I’m interested to see if we stack another solid receiver to our room, or shoot for the moon on an obvious WR 1. Guess that ultimately depends on who enters 🤷‍♂️

This is my point. Not sure what he adds that Mosley doesn’t already provide. If you’re gonna go to the portal, go full Cam Coleman or not at all.

I think Marsh has WR1 ability. It was a rocky 2025 season for him. He had some drops, their QB play was poor and ultimately the Spartan faithful felt like there was more left on the table for him this season. At the end of the day, he has very similar skillset to Emmett Mosley V imo.

He’s really good, but if the top 5-7 WRs all return and Royal reclassifies to 26 and enters with Bishop, would Texas still take a big-time receiver out of the portal? Seems like that would create the potential for major attrition. Not saying it’s a bad thing—I think Sark NEEDS to upgrade at receiver—just wondering what it all means for the receiver room dominoes.

This is a big entrance. I had alluded to watching MSU after they parted ways with their HC, Marsh was the reason why. I expect there to be interest from Texas, but we will see.

Bama pretty much has to be a lock. As Josh Pate put it, Bama is the #1 seed in the SEC. If the CFP excludes the SEC #1 seed based on the outcomes of a conference championship game, the SEC would go nuclear. Add to that- it would be the second year in a row leaving pre-eminent SEC darling Bama out (after much moaning by the SEC last year). The SEC would go thermonuclear.

DeBoer and family don’t seem happy in Alabama, I wouldn’t be surprised if he left
