Love these segments getting to know coaches as people. As for approaching a huge game, I like hearing how even seemingly obvious points deserve emphasis. For example, even though it's a team game with interdependency, I appreciated what he said about players needing to individually rise to the moment and win 1 on 1. And as he said, PTL! and 🤘

"Fair market value" is great theoretically but you can't tell people or dictate a players value, SCOTUS already said that. If Donor X thinks that Player Y at his school Z is worth 2 million dollar NIL deal there is no way they tell that player he cannot get the deal because "fair market value"

Baseball: No. 5 Texas vs. Texas State Game Thread

Agree. We had Max, Mendoza, Flores and Galvan all hitting well. Not to mention some big hits from Gasparino. I realize Duplantier got a double last night but he is a career .200 hitter. He leadoff an inning with a bunt attempt, would have bunted again with a runner on base but the pitcher was wild and walked him, bunted again on what was ruled a hit. It’s like having a pitcher at the plate….You are basically sacrificing a spot in the lineup. i would play Winfield and give him some consistent AB’s. He was a top transfer portal addition after hitting over .330 with 10 HR, 40 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases in 54 games at ULM last year. -
We are planning to rotate guys a lot this season due to length of season including playoff and CCG. You can never have too much quality depth especially at the most critical to success position on defense, pass rusher.

How about some defense? Field the ball and it's no problem. -

We had 12 strikeouts against T. State pitching to their 6. Every time we do that it is more difficult to win. Losing an excellent all around player like Belyeu is going to hurt due to lack of depth and the failure of Winfield hit at all and strikeout half the time. We definitely need A Rod healthy again and some backups to step up. -
Great post game interviews after beating TCU and making Final 4. All class from Rory talking about her hard work returning from the ACL recovery and their intense focus on defense. Best of all…..Starting at the 9:50 mark, Madison Booker spoke about how she and her teammates wanted this final 4 for Coach even more than for themselves and the incredible team resilience and fight they have. All that Coach Schaefer has done for them and his dedication to his players. Awesome respect from the team leader for her head coach. Similar love from Rory for Coach. Love the high character and team unity on this team. Looking forward to hearing Coach Schaefer this morning in Coffee and Football. Hook em! 🧡🤘🏼🐂

And therein lies the beauty of the transfer portal. You can risk losing a promising edge seeking more playing time but at the same time bring in a productive edge looking to boost his NFL draft stock at a more established Power 4 program.

Very little chance the "clearing house" arrangement withstands judicial scrutiny. Since when has "fair market value" ever been legally enforceable in a market economy? Is there any kind of cap or third party judge for marketing deals in any industry? Clearly violates the basic legal precedent.
