  4. Phoenix (Az) Arcadia 2025 K Gehrig Heil flips his commitment from Louisiana Tech to Texas.
  5. Like the title to this thread much better ! No one expected Texas to win the SEC first year in. Exciting year with a tough finish. Looking forward to next year with this staff having there feet under them. 🤘🏻
  6. The season was far better than anticipated. If the team was competitive in their first season in the SEC, I’d take it. Disappointing end, but this team wasn’t going to make the CWS the way they played as the season ended.
  7. This thread screams "somebody come get their drunk uncle"...

  9. I don't know all of Tulo's responsibilities but we hit for power and field well https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/323 https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/212 On the other hand, we're #150 in obp https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/589/p3 And dead last on sac bunts https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/498/p6 The latter may be a Schloss style and I'm ok with it, but, when you don't get enough baserunners and then strand the ones you get waiting for a bomb, it's worth a discussion. Because the ultimate result is that we're also outside the top 100 in scoring https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/213/p3 And Pythagoras will tell you what that means. Although I'd pin the regional exit on pitching, the arm farm carried the season with the spotty hitting showcasing itself in the jekyll and hyde Sunday double header.
  10. That’s an oxymoron lol
  11. I don't get why the Finals are midweek. Should give them a weekend audience. Oh well, I'll watch when I can.

  13. We have a Manning. Get used to it.
  14. After baseball I don't want to be too overconfident but I like our chances vs Tech; on the other hand until proven otherwise hard to take 2 from the "home team"
  15. Too soon for anything Omaha related. Baseball hurt me
  16. A couple of folks have asked about the promo code for Omaha Steaks for father's day gifts. Use the code ONTEXAS at checkout. It will give you an extra $35 off of certain orders.
  17. I believe Vince's son is 2028.
  18. Stanford scored 129 of max 132.
  19. Shea Morenz and Vince Young sons 2029s?
  20. Team is looking amazing right now. Seems like this group of girls have been so close for a few years now. Close it out!
  21. My wife went to Tech law school, so I agree with you. Unless they’re playing Texas… 😉
  22. This comment and some others on the thread leave me with one thought..."Where do I start?" And I will take the High Road while Hashtag and You fight it out for the silliness award. First the pitching was much improved over the last few years. No this isn't Clemens, Shiraldi, et al.......but it was much better than before. The pitchers' mechanics were much more consistent. They attacked the Zone. They got balls in play. Unfortunately, the problem with more balls in play was our middle infield. You can't sugar coat it. We need to be better at shortstop and second. Our middle guys make too many errors. I don't think this is a coaching issue, but rather a recruiting issue. If may just be an experience issue, but a David Williams clone would be sweet. The Spencer issue was HUGE. He is 1 of 2 Horns than were ranked in the top 100 pro-draft prospect....and they weren't top 50. Tennessee had something like 6 kids. Our Sunday starter should have been the Tuesday guy. As for hit batters, this is a direct result of the new style of hitting. Batters today dive into the ball more today because they are afraid of the outside corner strike. Batters also "coil" their hips more today which reduces batter mobility. But, Fans love the long ball and that style generates longballs. The result is the batter has less mobility and is generally not in a position to bail on inside pitches. It also doesn't help that the batters now have all types of protective gear on that takes the fear out of being hit.... thank you Craig Biggio. One last thought on the hit batter issue. I would like to see the stats on "us being hit by pitch" vs. "opponent being hit by our pitchers". I bet it was close to 50-50. Other than you not personally liking Tulo whatever the reason, I see no reason for him to leave. Texas was a very good hitting team. Our hitters had a consistently good approach. We scored plenty of runs. That is his job and he did a good job. (i think there is more to your Tulo issue than you are letting on)
