  1. Past hour
  2. He also added they start every day with with ball security drills. Should be music to y’all’s ears.
  3. The mantra in the Texas running back room under Juluke: "The team is the ball. The ball is the team."
  4. I hope not, but you never know what a person may find interesting/attractive.
  5. Juluke: "Football is all I know."
  6. Juluke: "I coach running backs with a lot of pride. You don't need us until you need us. We're undervalued."
  7. Juluke said he didn't coach running backs until he got to Louisiana Tech. He initially interviewed for a spot on Skip Holtz's staff as a defensive backs coach.
  8. Juluke said he wanted to be the best HS coach in Louisiana history while he was at Edna Karr and then joked “they did much better when they got rid of my ass”
  9. Today marks 47 days until kickoff, so the countdown rolls on with a look at some of the best Longhorns to wear No. 47. Andrew Beck | Tight End (2015–18) A true do-it-all tight end, he played in 51 career games with 30 starts, hauling in 40 receptions for 440 yards and four touchdowns while becoming one of Texas’ most dependable blockers and leaders. His senior season earned him First-Team All-Big 12 honors, and he was also named a Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award semifinalist. Mike Lockett | Wide Receiver (1976–77) Lockett was part of one of Darrell Royal’s final great teams. A two-year letterman, he helped Texas capture the 1977 Southwest Conference championship, finish 11-1 and No. 4 nationally, and earn a trip to the 1978 Cotton Bowl with a chance to claim the national championship. Luke Brockermeyer | Linebacker (2018–21) One of the best recent walk-on success stories, Brockermeyer earned a scholarship before becoming a starter in the middle of the Texas defense. He finished his career with 75 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and received Honorable Mention All-Big 12 recognition in 2021 after recording 62 tackles. He was also a Burlsworth Trophy nominee and a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection. Current No. 47: Trey Dubuc (Deep Snapper) Who’s your favorite Longhorn to wear No. 47? Any other names you’d add to the list? 🤘
  10. Jeff and I are about to listen to RBs coach Jabar Juluke.
  11. Hopefully this game is preview for what it will be like for Texas to play in this arena for the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight matchups. Long way to go before March of next year though.
  12. You do know Tuco was "The Ugly", right? 😈
  13. Today
  14. Really good way to look at it. I think Elko has the right mindset - question is does A&M let him do what he needs to do?
  15. Asked about this year's recruiting class and how successful it has been. "I think it's worked out really well for us... It's the first class we were on level footing for. We had no chance in 25, playing catch up in 26 and 27 was the first time. Our message to those kids was we are going to be a developmental program and become a consistent winner." Added that this past draft validated their recruiting message.
  16. On what he wants from both Reed and offense, development wise: "Consistency and urgency." Says those two things have been the most important piece of the offseason.
  17. On roster building, Elko explains that they treat HS recruiting as the draft and the portal as free agency.
  18. Elko says that Texas A&M moving to the SEC was important, but doesn't speak on the Horns move (he was asked). "That's what allowed us to grow our brand and recruit at a level, year in and year out, to be successful."
  19. Elko says it's important for the Aggies to be great on the LOS. Notes they had 7 linemen drafted last year.
  20. FWIW, I have a short sleeve dri-fit hoodie on. So I'm close.
  21. Elko immediately asked about 5 for 5. "I think 5 for 5 is going to affect different programs, at different levels, differently." Then adds that it should enhance some of the developmental players.
  22. I just want to point out that Mike Elko and I are the only two people in the room wearing long-sleeve Dri-FIT hoodies. Make of that what you will.
  23. Great question from Jeff and great answer from Bohl on that last question!
  24. Totally fair take
