LB Anthony Hill Jr. Named Butkus Award Finalist
Deep in the heart replied to CJ Vogel's topic in On Texas Football Forum
My guy! He's going to earn it on Friday. That was one of his goals this year and what better game to clinch it! Let's go! Story lines couldn't be any better for this game! -
Let go one day, hire the next. That seems to be the M.O. of the Texas athletic department these days.

No one’s dunking on Trey, but he ain’t Bijan, and asking him to cosplay as Bijan behind an interior line that blocks like a bunch of athletically challenged 50 yr old men playing Twister is just cruel. Last year Sark had Blue keeping defenses honest and ripping explosives. This year it’s Trey versus the world, and the world is winning by committee. And yeah, imagining Bijan in ’23 or ’24? That’s the kind of pain that makes you stare out the window like you’re in a sad country song. Bottom line: Trey can be part of the answer next year, but he can’t be the whole answer. Somebody in that room has to take a leap, or we need to drag a fully grown man out of the portal, one who doesn’t need perfect blocking to get five yards and can make a DB question his life choices. Arch can’t be the run game and the escape artist and the savior.

Championship caliber coaches - it's what CDC does. That's why I'm confident that should any coaching jobs at Texas open up, as long as CDC is the AD, the replacement is going to be just as good if not better.
-
Yep. That’s what he does.

How much to get Arky RB Mark Washington to Texas?

IMO we need a complete back, not a specific type of road grader. -
Damn good hire by CDC!

You could have imagined a conference full of it had the coaches not been hardheaded and keep trying to force Stroh, especially coming off a bye week. -

Hopefully we’ll have our own in Jett Walker. He’s already the same height and is 215. I could see him adding 10-15 pounds without losing speed. -

Congratulations to the Texas Longhorn volleyball team that took down those hated Aggies three sets to one. We'll play tonight against Kentucky for the SEC Championship. Texas is playing their best volleyball of the season at the absolute perfect time. Congratulations ladies you look amazing. Hook'Em

Clinch it with a big game against A&M. We will let Tyanthony out of the cage to wreak havoc on lil’ bro and send em home crying. -

Thanks for letting me know. I should have looked it up. Hook 'Em! -
Apologies. I knew he had an injury history dating back to high school but I thought he was also injured at Alabama. Thanks.

Yes. Thanks, perhaps I wasn't clear. I'm a Texas alum (undergraduate and graduate degrees) and a lifelong Horns fan. What I meant to say was that I have an irrational hangup about legacy recruits. Perhaps because I only wanted to attend Texas and my daughter graduated from UT in 2017. I was bugged by a great player's sons (I realize one of the sons went to Texas and is now at Miami) not signing with the Longhorns when they were recruited. The eldest chose Alabama and unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury. It was his 4+ star services that Texas wanted. On the other hand, Texas recruited Mills knowing the young man was a Washington legacy. After seriously considering the Longhorns, he signed with the Huskies. So, it just seems that often (certainly not always) Texas misses on its own legacy recruits and when it recruits players that are legacies at other schools, the Horns finish as second choice and the young man chooses his legacy school. We missed on Brockermeyer and we missed on Mills. Simply frustrating. Fingers crossed for young Mr Lott. I remember his father being a star at Texas in football and track. Hook 'Em!
