Blake C Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago Hard agree. CFB as we knew it is dead. All that matters is making the playoffs. By any means 1 Quote
texcoyote15 Posted 9 minutes ago Posted 9 minutes ago I’m not scared to play anyone in the country, but in today college football it makes no sense to schedule an Ohio State. The goal is to be in the top 12 at the end of the year. With SEC going to a 9 game schedule plus if you’re good enough to get in the conference championship you will likely end up playing Georgia twice in one year. With this portal and NIL, every game in the SEC is tough……especially on the road. We were within a couple eyelashes of losing two more games to the bottom half of the conference. Another thing is we’re one of the only teams in the country that has 3 rivalry games where the 3 teams hate us more than anything in the world. It’s really hard to win those 3 rivalry games every year. We’re the one rivalry for OU, A&M, and Arkansas. They’re 3 for us. I don’t care what kind of team you have. It’s going to be hard to sweep those 3 every year. If the playoffs expand to 16 teams, then maybe there will be several 3 loss teams in there. So more leeway. The landscape now isn’t set up to open up with a top team in the country out of conference. I wish it was but it’s not. Quote
