💯

Wingo needs to make more of the easy catches but let's not act like the dude doesn't make plays. Much like Arch, he needs to make more of the easy plays to go with his tough ones.

Yep. I remember everyone was down on Worthy after his Junior year because of all the drops. Wingo just needs to get more discipline in catching with his hands and seeing the ball all the way into his hands before he tries to run with it. As you said, he is a tuddy waiting to happen once he does firmly have it and has a little open space. Watch Parker catch the ball. He has very clearly had some good coaching on catching. I think with some better pass blocking, better year of Arch early on and one more year of improvement this WR room is going to be ok.

It is going to be really interesting to see how many kids actually portal out of Texas. That will obviously impact the numbers on how many the staff can import.

My estimations go like this – OL (2x-3x), RB, S, CB, LB, DL or 2 makes sense again.

Keep Terry off that list!!

I like Wingo, I just think he’s a luxury guy moreso than a reliable one. Let’s not forget, Worthy went bananas as soon as he stepped on campus with his opportunity. Wingo was force fed this season and mostly wilted under the expectations.

If we can bring in an NFL talented guy or two and give them the opportunity to boost their draft stock like we did with Golden, Bond, and Mitchell, that would be ideal.

Don't feel like there are many guys who would really be much of an upgrade over the talent we have at the moment, unless they're a first-round caliber guy, no point in paying in the portal. Gotta wait for the big fish, and even though that post was fake I do think Cam Coleman might enter.

I agree with you especially in the receiving room and because Sark expect so much from his receivers. Not many Mitchell’s or Goldens out there that aren’t already playing for us!

That will change. WR is the deepest portal position every single offseason.

Give it a week or two and there will be several WR1 caliber options in the portal.

I wonder how many OL do depart vs. how many Texas fights to retain. The number could rise up to 4-5 based off of early portal predictions.

Exit meetings will be important for the Longhorns to retain the guys they hope to see on campus in 2026.

I’m at 5 right now.

Methinks those hoping for Cam Coleman to enter the portal might not like the result of it.  Gerry stated before, Texas wouldn't be the only team chasing him - I would say that given he was committed to the aggies prior to flipping to Auburn that he'd give them a hard look considering what he's seen from their wideouts this year.

Those farmers won some major portal additions last year, they'll be a thorn again this portal season.

I like Coleman, but as an SEC school dealing with revenue share you have to ask yourself if spending 3/4 million on WR is the best move IMO.
I think if he enters he'll go to B10 school who's willing to have a WR room of him and a bunch of JAGs.

If we can afford him i'd love to have him obviously, but to me there's more pressing matters to address.
I'd be more than fine if we get a P4 guy with production that is "underrated" and that is in a contract year. It seems to be working out well for Texas.

Do we need a WR1 given how deep we are in that room or would the money be better spent elsewhere like OL or LB?

We will see how it plays out.

Based on that speed alone without even watching the tape i would say yes please

Can’t help but think of Brennan Thompson. He has a grand total of 2 catches. Maybe he develops how Thompson has this year but doubt the initial steps would be at Texas.

Doesn't he run track also?

If so I don't think it's smart to give a 2 sport athlete a scholarship in the age of NIL.

Im sure the staff would evaluate his film and be very thorough before they even put the full court press on him, But i am a sucker for fast wide receivers, who are a nightmare in space, can take the top off of a defense and we don’t have ANY of those on the roster.

Did he make lsu wr rotation?  Everyone knew about him coming out of HS in Texas due to his speed but don’t believe we ever really pursued him.  Just because a guy is fast doesn’t mean he can play Wr.
