Hoosier Horns Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Anyone else think its funny that Brooks Austin always throws some shots at Sark and Texas every show for the last month or more? He is now criticizing Texas for "ruining the sport" by threatening the cancelation of our big non-con after the Ohio St, Michigan games get honored. He's throwing this shade while being a homer of a school who never schedules marquee non-cons with blue bloods. I may be the only one who is bothered by this but I hate a hypocrite. 6 Quote
horns96 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He's a UGA homer. He knows that Sark is his program's biggest rival in recruiting. He panders to us when he makes his OTF appearances, but he's not an objective observer (and that's ok). 4 Quote
Bunk Moreland Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago His film breakdown is solid. His broader opinions are worth about as much as the deposit I just made. 2 2 Quote
J. Hickman Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I haven't listened to Brooks in a minute, so I can't really speak on what he may or might not have said. With that being said, my incredibly uneducated take is: He knows what he's doing. Texas is a brand that people seem to either love or love to hate. ANY slander will garner you clicks and views (from supporters and detractors alike), and in an attention economy, it's all good for him. He can slice and dice those clips, post them on social media (or as a YouTube Short), and his viewership numbers are bound to go up. 2 Quote
TexasDynasty3 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I only watch Texas film sessions that he does. 1 Quote
Michelle Lynn Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago His criticism of Sark’s scheme is valid. It needs adjustment in order to beat the ohio states/georgias of the world. I wouldnt look too much into his “ruining the sport” talk. He also said Texas was doing a good job lobbying. 2 Quote
drag worm Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I like his show and his film breakdowns. He's got a good brand going for the space he occupies in the college football world. And yes, he's a homer for Georgia that's trying to expand his market to covering other programs, but the Georgia homerisms still slip out all the time. I find him to be a lot like Kirby and the rest of the Georgia fan base. Remarkably thin skinned given their historical and recent success. Being at every Georgia game last year you could sense that they weren't confident in themselves like the fanbase was in Tuscaloosa. Hell, those fans helped us take photos celebrating in their stadium. Georgia was much more Sooner-ish with the constant horns down and stupid nonsense at the end of our OT loss in Atlanta. We needed to win that game this year to shut them up but alas it has to wait for another opportunity. Really wish Burt woulda make that kick. Edited 1 hour ago by drag worm 2 Quote
Hoosier Horns Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago I totally agree with ya'll. I just hate when he says outlandish things like that because I regularly watch his program when I get through the OTF content. I think his break downs are good but when you bash others for what you are doing in your own home is very shallow in my book. Prolly just giving it too much attention. Quote

Rocky P Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago I like Brooks when he does his video sessions, otherwise he just talks out of his BLO-U hole Quote
CHorn427 Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago (edited) I firmly believe that if Notre Dame would have been included over Bama, the SEC (not only Texas) would have immediately began the move to cancel every future series with Notre Dame, and rightfully so. It would have painted an extremely clear picture that SEC schools are far more at risk for scheduling blue blood non cons than Notre Dame. Any SEC school that starts a season 0-2 is absolutely dead in the water. Might as well begin prep for next year. But I guess Touchdown Jesus allows Notre Dame to walk across that water SEC schools would be dead in. Edited 35 minutes ago by CHorn427 Quote
