Btown22 Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM Per D1 baseball, Texas is the preseason #3 team going into this year. Hopefully the pitching staff doesn’t lose its edge late in the season again. 7 Quote

I guess that's one way to look at it, but when you accomplish all that Texas accomplished, I didn't expect to lose how and who we did in the post season. My comment wasn't one of disappointment, more like one of deflation. Baseball has two seasons, it's unique in the sense it's not like football or basketball where all you have to do is win one game to move on. After the regular season and all the accolades they earned I expected more. That's all I'm saying. 2 Quote
WG Carter Posted yesterday at 07:23 PM Posted yesterday at 07:23 PM Incredible season to win the SEC by 2 games. Won almost every 1 run game and most series. We had some injuries that took a toll and we were not at our best for play offs. Look at power of SEC baseball in initial '26 rankings. Flying that championship flag from last year, is meaningful 3 Quote

I forgot about how we lost our ace and pitching went down the drain. I stand corrected and maybe I was being a little to hard on the guys. 5 Quote

It was still disappointing especially losing to UTSA in the regionals at home, but makes a little easier to stomach at least. 1 Quote
antcan95 Posted yesterday at 07:40 PM Posted yesterday at 07:40 PM Didn’t we lose Spencer mid year? Quote

Btown22 Posted yesterday at 07:51 PM Author Posted yesterday at 07:51 PM I agree the end of the season felt deflating, but man I’m pumped to see what this season brings Quote

The team overachieved all year long. They were fun to watch and played hard all year long. They ran out of gas at the end of the season but underwhelming was not how to describe last year. Quote

I never read any of the write ups after UTSA whooped our butts but what was the reason for them handling us so thoroughly? It seemed like they knew what pitches were coming Quote
Jerry K Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I think Texas should be in a better position for a deeper run. But it's a long season and injuries are part of sports. I'm not going to predict Omaha but I'm really looking forward to seeing how this seasons team comes together. Quote

Definitely going to have more top end depth on the mound this year. 2 Quote

It should have happened earlier. 3 Quote

Kinda surprising to hear that guys like Grubbs and Riojas are not penciled in to the rotation. Sounds like there's some guys like Flores who made big strides in the offseason. Sounds like at this point Volantis will be the Friday night starter. 2 Quote

Shows the staff thinks the young guys have made enough of a jump to surpass them. 2 Quote
