Sounds like there's some guys like Flores who made big strides in the offseason. Sounds like at this point Volantis will be the Friday night starter. Flores was sitting at 94 last year. With an offseason to work with the Arm Farm to develop better location and off speed pitches his stuff has a chance to be nasty. 2 Quote

Gotta love all this preseason prognosticating haha—we all thought OU's football schedule this year would be a gauntlet and it turned out very differently! Quote

Jim Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago Riojas was moved Into the weekend rotation out of necessity last year. Think the staff would rather use him in more of a stopper role where you bring him into games where the opposition is threading late in the game rather then a closer role at the very end of a game. They can use him multiple innings to close out a game or situational depending on where he is innings wise in a series. Grubbs can also give you multiple innings on the back-end as well. I'm curious to see if they go with a traditional closer or let Riojas and Grubbs close out games in multiple inning outings. The offense feels more versatile where they're not relying on the long ball as much as in previous years. On paper they look like the can score runs in multiple ways. Can't wait for the season to get Hook'em Quote
