And worked out at the gym with him. He told me that he had 37 3/4" in thighs and 28" waist. So, even though he may have only weighed about 220 lbs, his 220 was not like anyone else's 220! I asked him once, what's it like to be rich and famous? He quipped, "it's not all it's cracked up to be." HOOKEM 1 Quote

HOOKEM I was a sophomore on the Forty Acres when Earl was a Freshman and I watched him play almost every snap... including most games on the road. His RB skills were unquestionable, but I remember a couple of times when he came in, lined up in the middle of the D line and broke through and blocked the punt attempt. He was the definition of "special." Hook 'Em! 2 1 Quote

I never saw him play live in college just NFL. I actually was at his first pre season Oiler game where he didn't do anything. Some idiot behind me was talking "same old Oilers this RB is going to be a bust. Earl broke it out against Dallas in there last pre season game, had over 150 yds. Back in the late 70"s teams played there starters for almost entire game in last pre season game. I also saw live the famous run against the Rams in 1978, where he ran over the ALL Pro Linebacker.
