  1. Good for Gumbo. Good kid who has stuck it out and has been able to get playing time off and on and not just pinch run a lot as he did early on at UT. Good utility player.
  2. Not sure his ideas or the bill’s co-sponsor (D) Maria Caldwell’s ideas jive with everyone, but he is an IVY Leaguer as far as sports are concerned and sports is not their primary mission. They do have some pretty good teams off and on but academics is their main concern. They do appreciate competition and rivalries and the rivalries among the Ivy League schools are big.
  3. too bad. hitting has been inconsistent for awhile and Kavan has struggled off and on for about six weeks.
  4. Pete Rose is turning over in his grave.
  5. I hope a judge shuts this down. A black eye for college sports if he is reinstated. I haven't seen if the NCAA has done more than just not reinstate him for this year but hopefully their ruling includes suspending him at least one year and maybe for life.
  6. The CSC is independent of the NCAA. Would that committee still have to rule on NIL money, etc. no matter what new body is set up that separates from the NCAA if that body includes a conference(s) that had agreed to opt-in?
  7. He looks like a high school player
  8. Dallas Baptist has drifted off the map a bit this year and only had 32 wins (32-26; .552). I checked their roster and another of Andy Pettitte's sons is playing for them.
  9. I did the burger part.
  10. Black Sabbath, Mississippi Queen by Mountain, Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf . . . Oops. May that is powerboat rock. 🤣
  11. 4 years in the NFL is definitely better pay-wise than the average person, but I was referring to playing on the field. His last two years out of 4 in the NFL he had 3 catches and only had 2 TDs for his career. Being a long term backup QB in the NFL may be one of the best jobs there is because they make a lot of money, come out with fewer injuries than starters, but probably would have preferred to be a starter.
  12. That will be a great graduate degree for him. Sorry it did not work well in the NFL but he was a very good receiver for UT.
  13. He went to a lot better school than Tech.
  14. Oops. My bad. That somehow slipped my mind. Interesting guy and a fan favorite. His mom was good in the soup commercials too. 🤣
  15. In the pros, only Burrows and Mayfield have made it. In college, probably Vince and Cam were the best because they were great with a good cast around them, but not a spectacular cast. That LSU team was great pretty much top to bottom. That leaves Tebow as the worst overall, but I really liked him in college.
  16. His Gastrointestinal tract issues might have been from eating some jalapeno or spicy Mexican food for the first time and being a Pennsylvania boy it took its toll.
  17. It would be nice to get a couple of two way players again with the talent he had. What a player.
  18. I saw that A-Rod is playing Cape Cod ball this summer so no rest for him. I also saw that Mike Antico was released by the Card's organization a couple of days ago. A couple of articles talked about how much the fans liked him and were surprised. It also mentioned how popular he was with his teammates. I hope he gets a shot elsewhere.
  19. Softball mercied the Badgers with a walk off 2 run HR.
  20. We need to score fast and hope Brody settles downs and gives us some innings.
  21. Too bad things went south fast for Luke. He was pitching so well. Now we need Cozart to finish this.
  22. I have lived in several places outside of Texas and have been to both Minnesota and Wisconsin in the summer and winter. Don’t choose winter unless you are forced to. Both states aren’t bad in the summer and have a lot of outdoor activities and better weather than most parts of Texas in the summer.
  23. Tinney sure hits the ball hard. Volantis was great tonight and one mistake (or a good swing by a good hitter) led to the only run he gave up on the 1st batter homerun. Middle relief was a little shaky but Cozart was great. We still need more hits and a bit more clutch if we want to score more runs and make a run in the playoffs.
