Dylan Volantis is on the mound with the Longhorns going for a series sweep of the Spartans and a 7-0 start.

Volantis gets Williams to pop an 0-2 pitch to center field. Robbins makes the grab for the first out of the game.

Ryan McKay sends a bullet back to the mound. Volantis impressively gathers it and goes to first for the out.

Tough play for Becerra on a slow roller off the bat of Seymour. The throw doesn't get there in time. It's a two-out infield single for the Spartans.

Larson makes a catch running in from left to end the inning. The two-out infield single is all the Spartans gets against Volantis in the top of the first.

Ethan Mendoza stays hot. He pokes one through the right side into right field for a leadoff single.

Full-count, Mendoza goes and Rodriguez smacks one by Seymour at first base. It's first and third with no outs for Robbins.

Rodriguez with an uncontested steal of second base as Robbins strikes out.

It's RISP with one out for Tinney, who I don't think is going to get anything remotely close to hit.

Tinney draws a four-pitch walk. The bases are loaded with one out for Jonah Williams.

Jonah works a walk. Mendoza comes home to make it a 1-0 lead for the Longhorns.

Casey Borba is up with the bases still loaded and one out.

Michigan State, for some reason, played the shift against Borba in a double-play situation. His 6-3 groundout gets Rodriguez home to make it a 2-0 game.

With RISP and two outs, Larson flies out to center to end the inning.

Two runs on two hits with two left on for the Longhorns in the bottom of the first.

Deckinga's high chopper allows him to reach base on an infield single. Tough play for Mendoza, who couldn't get it to first in time for the out.

After Van Ameyde strikes out looking, Murphy takes the first pitch he sees from Volantis to left for a single.

We've got a review on a bang-bang play at first base. Rice tried to bunt his way on with two outs and runners on first and third.

The call on the field was at Volantis got him for the out.

The call has been overturned. Rice is safe. Michigan State has the bases loaded with two outs.

Three straight breaking balls for strikes. Volantis fans Williams to get out of the jam.
