JMarquette Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Luke Harrison was 1 pitch away from an Immaculate Inning, wow! Quote
82horn Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Harrison with a 10 pitch inning. I am liking it so far. 2 Quote
TrouperG Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm here, don't make me regret it..... The only thing I will say about Tinney is he's our starting catcher which means he touches the ball more than anyone else on the team and defensively he's been more than serviceable. If you bench him, you could destroy any confidence and then you've got one option at catcher. Plus he is a top NIL earner on the team, but this isn't the majors, you can't structure performance into the contracts, at least I don't think you can YET. We don't need his bat right now as well as everyone else is swinging it so any Manager/Coach worth a damn is going to keep him in the lineup. If you move him to eighth they might pitch around him but he does get on base. He also has the fewest at bats for a Longhorn starter because of the Walks with Pack having Fewer because they've been keeping Duplantier engaged. Temo has as many at bats because he scares the crap out of pitchers at this point with his trademark three run homers. 1 Quote
TrouperG Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago And their starter is out. It sucks he got hurt but it bodes well for the rest of the series having Ole Miss go to the bullpen in the second. 1 Quote

TrouperG Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Chased the second pitcher, so far the plan is working out. Quote
JMarquette Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Harrison has GOT to stop giving up free bases, especially the first batter of the inning. Quote
TrouperG Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Every time Borba makes a pick at first it looks like it's going to dribble free. Quote

Harrison is going into the sixth with at least a two run lead while Ole Miss is on their third pitcher. He did what we needed him to do and the bats have picked him up. If he can get through the heart of their order then we can go to the bullpen feeling pretty good. Edited 1 hour ago by TrouperG Quote

Not disagreeing to an extent, but his big issue has been giving free rides to the first batters, which puts himself in a tough position. You can retinue recognize that he’s pitched well while also recognizing that he could help himself by starting innings better. 1 Quote

At this point with the bottom of the order coming up and no real matchup advantage I'd leave Harrison in for the 7th, especially if they can tack on another run or two. Quote
82horn Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Harrison gets thru 6 innings, longest outing of the year. He is at 85 pitches think Texas will go to bullpen in the 7th. This is what we needed from him today, and he got done with the middle of Ole Miss lineup that last half inning ! Quote

That would be big, not sure if they will, we shall see. Quote
TCope111 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The longer we wait on the bullpen, the better imo. Should have rode Ruger another few outs last night and same with Lefew. 3 Quote
