Eight Run 9th Inning Propels Texas Baseball to Another Series Win

David Pierce and his squad will return to Austin Sunday evening with a series victory after a come from behind victory over Houston this afternoon.

Texas scored eight runs in the 9th inning Sunday afternoon to take care of business 13–8. Conference series seemingly always start off rocky for the Longhorns, yet here we are with another series victory.

Texas improves to 22–15 on the season with a 9–6 record in Big 12 play. The Longhorns sit alone in 4th place in the conference at the moment as well, behind West Virginia and Oklahoma (11–4) and Oklahoma State (10–5).

With five conference series remaining, there remains plenty of opportunity for Texas to find consistency before the postseason begins. As things stand currently, Texas has the most home runs (74) of any team in the Big 12 and the third most runs (280).

Thank goodness!! This team is so up and down. Glad they got a W and won another big 12 series!!

The issue is pitching doesn't grow on trees, nor does it just show up 60% of the way through the season. However, there is plenty of pop in these bats and Texas can get hot with the lineup against just about anyone.

Glad they pulled it out, but they struggled every game against the worst team in the conference. Not a good look. ☹️

4-4 against three teams that are a combined 49-55 in last 8 games. Not a single one of those three have a winning record. Let that sink in.

No team will get top college pitchers in the future unless that team is top 5 in NIL.  Fact of modern college baseball life.

Texas has some serious work to do.

Just bragging. A while back there were no single tickets for the UCF games yet. So I bought season tickets at $150 each and put the rest of the games up for resale for only $10 per game. I've already made money on the deal.

Is it true Jarod Thomas will be starting on the mound tonight?

I'm patiently waiting for Pierce to be fired.  We need a better coach heading into the SEC with OU and A&M possessing superior coaches.  David Pierce may be the worst current SEC baseball coach.  He's a good coach who has done some good things such as facility upgrades, but he's not elite enough to coach for UT in the SEC.
