Preferred walk on versus scholarship player

If you're worried about scholarships number, why wouldn't you have an NIL deal that makes worth a player while to play at TX? Is there a NCAA rule about how many walk on you can have? Is it ego for a player to not be in scholarship? I could see a deal where you have an NIL deal that cover the cost of school and real money to play at TX?

There is a limit to walk-ons of 20 I believe. But there's no reason beyond that. And Texas' Bert Auburn is technically a walk-on.

Bobby, is it possible that is a limit to PWOs?  The Service Academies are technically all walk-on, correct?
