It did my heart good to see Lawrence Sampleton inducted last night.

Lawrence played for my father in Seguin but before that he was my mother’s favorite students in class.  Whenever we went to Texas games, we always made sure to say “Hi” to Lawrence.

My brother was on that team.  Keep in mind Lawerence was a local hero to us boys who grew up in Seguin, so having the chance to be on the field with on of your heroes was a great opportunity.  He also go to share the field with Terry Orr, who he had played against when we lived in Midland.
