We have an offensive coordinator in flood well you really talking about is having a play caller. Even if sark get a play caller they will still be running the same offense. They just make a call. Different plays of the same schema that Sark has created. Play caller is not the answer here. We actually need a quarterback that can run the schema or it has to be simplified for arch cause he is not processing an NFL playbook. Isn’t simplifying calling quicker developing plays? Isn’t play calling noticing the ball needs to come out quicker and calling slants, quick outs, and crossing patterns? Arch has improved year over year with those plays 1 Quote

Even Bishop’s touchdown he was open sitting in his zone and then had to go scramble and or hit him on scramble. He could’ve hit him when he was sitting down in the zone. There were many outlets that he could’ve thrown to and Sark even played the fourth quarter with a check down on either side of arch that he could’ve hit is just not processing fast enough for the quick route either someone said it earlier and it made a lot of sense to me. That arch is pretty good at the hitting someone sitting down in route stationary or the deep ball he doesn’t hit people in stride on horizontal or slant routes. 1 Quote

Ryan Clement Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago Does sark ever bench manning? Even if the bad reads continue to happen. I dont think he could it would be the end of his career at Texas if he did. Quote
tsip92 Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago Great article Gerry. The QB craft needs to improve substantially. The offense in general needs to develop an identity and consistency. Arch is part of that, but 11 possessions of 4 plays or less doesn’t speak well to the OC. Following up a 6 three and out game with a 7 three and out performance is just bad. Also, Sark talks about complimentary football but he rarely executes it. Following up two three and outs with a one play 41 yard touchdown pass isn’t complimentary. Going three and out the next two drives after that sure as hell isn’t complimentary football. 5 possessions totaling 13 offensive plays to start the game. Yeesh… 1 Quote

The way this OLine can’t pick up a blitz to save its life, Quinn would be getting flatlined every time he drops back to pass. 1 Quote

In my opinion, Arch is diagnosing plays slow due to the time it’s taking to run the routes that are his 1st and 2nd reads. However, I could certainly be wrong Quote
Tuco Ramirez Posted 43 minutes ago Posted 43 minutes ago Honestly, I think the best thing for Arch’s continued development would be to transfer to another school with a qb whisperer coach. He seems to have not only plateaued, but regressed this year under sark. Quote
Shmatt Posted 43 minutes ago Posted 43 minutes ago Sark is proving that he is more of QB killer than a QB whisperer, also doesn’t help that our OL has never been able to pick up a blitz 2 Quote
AceHorn23 Posted 41 minutes ago Posted 41 minutes ago The play calling at times is terrible and the play book has changed drastically over the last couple of years. Not utilizing the RB 's in the screen game has all but disappeared and not targeting TE 's as well. Arch not seeing the blitz coming is baffling and Sark not adjusting to the constant blitz fronts is a CRIME! I also know that the constant 3 and outs make it difficult for an offense to find its rhythm but at some point some adjustments have to be made and that falls on Sark. " The year before the year " might turn into just another year. Sadly. 🤘🤘 2 Quote

Apparently, so does Arch. Singles and doubles win games you guys may remember but sark told arch to look for Emmett Mosley during the Ohio State on the crossing route. I bet if it were not for Sark mentioning that in the headphones at the last minute arch would not have made that read. Quote
JMarquette Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago This falls at Sark’s feet. Arch absolutely has blame, but when you have back-to-back 5 stars, you have to look at the system around them. 2 Quote

Arch has improved year over year with those plays If you were to do a real analysis on an all 22 you would see multiple plays as you describe an opportunities for arch to hit faster plays. It’s there of course sometimes things are covered in defenses are good arch needs to recognize that too and not force a ball into triple coverage or double coverage and throw an interception. you will notice how infrequently arch throws to the tight end go back and look at Quinn and you’ll see that he had a much higher rate at throwing to the tight ends. Same schema, same play, different quarterback Quote

However, when sitting in the stands and people around you are literally calling plays out before they happen the play caller needs to take some accountability. Derrick Cooper was the leading rusher in the game and received 2 carries in the 2nd half. Texas leads the SEC in 3 and outs. 1 Quote
Jim Douglas Posted 31 minutes ago Posted 31 minutes ago We need an adult in the room. Sark doesn’t hold his coaches accountable which bleeds into the players not being held accountable. He’s to stubborn/ scared to let arch run and refuses to adapt his offense to his players strengths, seems he rather lose his way than win trying something else🤷🏽♂️ Quote

I agree and it’s something I can’t wrap my head around. Sark wants a pocket passer but refuses to get a serviceable Oline. Quote

On the fourth and two when we miss the field goal, I was wondering why we did not run the ball there and go for it but that’s probably just me wanting to be more aggressive and people would’ve been calling for Starks head for not taking the points if he did go for it on fourth and two and not make it. I’m sorry, but there’s a reason people are sitting in stands versus on the sideline. Quote

Oldest Horn Posted 27 minutes ago Posted 27 minutes ago My issue with Arch is he doesn’t have a consistent rhythm. He’s a different player when he thinks he’s comfortably ahead (overly cautious), then steps on the gas with varying results when tied late or behind. Quote
