This is more of a question based on the fact that I didn't play football beyond the eighth grade, lol. Is the Texas defense so good that it is actually causing issues with the Texas offense?

I say this more so from a collegiate baseball background, where every once in a while, when the pitchers got hot and we had inner squads, they were mowing down the team, and morale wasn't where it was. I know there have been talks that things have been even and/or the offenses have been up and down. They've had their days, that type of stuff, but is it a real possibility that, for the past two years, the defense has been so good that it actually is having an effect on the offense progressing and growing?

Interesting, I totally get where you’re coming from. But, these guys are not going good on good usually

I guess I was more so in the mindset of sark early on saying that Colin could ruin practice if they let him....obviously not good on good but Texas 2-3 deep on defense is better than a lot of sec 1-2. just food for thought and had me intrigued thinking about it today. Either way in the boat of offense needing to pick it up for "the standard is the standard" talk.

Agree, I also wonder if the intensity that Muschamp brings always pushing and trying to win is getting the offense frustrated. We heard about Josiah Sharma whoopin the interior on scout team this week. The standard is physicality and intensity and you’re right the offense IS NOT meeting that standard. You know it’s like getting in the cage with someone who insists on throwing 90 from 30 feet and is plunking you every 5th pitch and expecting that you’ll be ready to go hit in a game (this has actually happened to me and we literally fought because I wa la the only one who would even get in the cage with him).

Couldn’t agree more on the 90 from 30 lol. Was thinking along the same lines. Last year physicality was not the same but defense was good. This year same concept but defense is tossing teams around. Just interesting because defense looks out of this world athletic and physical and offense is as athletic but wishing for more. I don’t think arch is the problem but more so a rhythm thing. Let’s see what happens in about 15 hrs

We’ll find out over the next few weeks as we play defenses that aren’t ranked as high. I think a lot of the challenge has been the defenses we’ve played.  Ohio State and OU are top 10 defenses, while Tennessee is a top 25 defense.   Very few teams have faced the quality of P4 defenses we have faced.  We had 380 yards of offense very OU.  What killed us vs OU was the 2-0 turnover margin and the blocked punt.   OU had only given >300 yards against Georgia who barely hit 300 (with 303).  Tennessee was really the worst game on offense due to the sacks and limited rb with Raleek Brown as the only healthy rb.
