Mediocre. I've watched them 2x this year against a bad Oregon and Penn State defense and it's not that special. It reminds me of Greg Davis' zone read 2-man passing game offense. And OSU ran him off. Their defense won that Natty for then, not that offense.

OSU didn’t run him off. He resigned to take OC job in the NFL

Northwestern moved the football and scored on the Indiana defense

I had AI do an online synthesizing of all lists, article mentions, social media reputations, and services lists of all current to OCs, and Chip Kelly is mentioned in the top 12 and AI says is still considered one of the best in the Nation. I haven't been impressed, but he still has a top reputation.

Number 5 is going to shock you. (These are all coordinators and not head coaches)

1) Mike Denbrock (Notre Dame) — Often cited as the best pure OC in the country. Strong scheme blending, excellent red-zone sequencing, and consistent production.
2) Mike Shanahan (Indiana) — Key to Indiana’s sustained success under Curt Cignetti. Efficient, balanced attack.
3) Shannon Dawson (Miami) — Helping drive one of the top offenses (Miami was ranked No. 1 in the Coaches Poll at one point).
4) Drew Mehringer (Oregon)
5) Kyle Flood (Texas)
6) Jason Beck (Michigan) — Highest-paid OC in the country (~$3M).
7) Charlie Weis Jr. (LSU)
9) Andy Kotelnicki (Kansas) — Creative RPO/motion specialist.
10) Arthur Smith (Ohio State) — Former NFL HC/OC; has Ohio State’s offense near the top in efficiency despite a recent loss.
11) Kendal Briles (South Carolina)
12) Chip Kelly (Northwestern) — Still one of the most innovative minds in the sport. Has produced a dramatic turnaround for Northwestern’s historically weak offense.

Up and comers mentioned:

1) Mitch Dahlen (Oregon State OC) — Frequently called one of the hottest names on the market this cycle. Came from Kalen DeBoer’s staff (Alabama/Washington/Fresno State). First season as a full OC.
2) Brennan Marion (Colorado OC) — Known for his “Go-Go” up-tempo offense. Relatively young (around 38) after a stint as an FCS head coach.
3) Buster Faulkner (Florida OC) — Has made an immediate impact after leaving Georgia Tech.
4) Sean Brophy (Oklahoma State OC) — Only about 29; rising quickly after working with Eric Morris.
Others on the radar include Kade Bell (Pitt), Seth Doege (Arizona), and various Group of 5/Power 4 assistants who have produced efficient units and are in the 30s or early 40s.

thats list is so terrible. What AI gave you that piece of Garbage?

OSU didn't run him off, he went back to the NFL with a job offer. Saying that he's doing mediocre at Northwestern of all places is hilarious to me. He's calling plays to the talent he has.

This is true. I read up on the OSU situation. It was his decision to leave, however, he didn't do well and was fired from the Raiders. He has raised Northwestern's per game scoring to 33 points from 23. That's an accomplishment, and I'll give him that, but their offense is nothing special. Have you watched them?

I'll trust it's detailed review of all list and ranking sources over your opinion any day.

Indiana, Oregon, Texas, and Michigan do not have top 12 offenses. All teams have been relying on defense to win games. Im not even sure Michigan has scored 25 this year. Thus why I say that list is terrible. Oregon just fired their OC because he was terrible. Texas is obviously terrible. Indiana is so mid they benched Hoover.

That was a synthesis of all list, articles, ranking services, and SM opinions on the reputations of current offensive coordinators in college. That was not my list. I don't even know who most of those guys are. Again, I'll take the AI comprehensive search and compilation over your single source (yourself) opinion any day.

AI doesn’t have ball knowledge. AI still says Kyle Flood is a top 5 OC. How could you possibly trust that over anyone who watches CFB. The data is skewed

Man your reading comprehension sucks. This was not AI's opinion either. It was a synthesis of opinions of others in the college football business. It's drawn from rankings, SM, articles on the subject, etc. That's why I said #5 is going to shock you. For whatever reason, some people out there think Flood is a good offensive coordinator.
