I haven’t heard much about Tasili Akana in a while, is he dealing with an injury, caught between edge and mlb, or just buried on the depth chart. He looked like the kinda guy who would at least be running out with the 2nd string by now.

Akana arrived at Texas under 200lbs! That's way too light for SEC LB and Edge. He needed more than 1 year of development.

Now listed at 6-4 215lbs. Akana flashed quickness off the edge in the '24 spring game. Didn't see him play any LB in '24 spring game.  Definitely buried on the depth chart. Sorrell, Burke, Finkley, Vasek, Moore and Simmons are likely playing more snaps than Akana this season. Akana might play pass rush snaps on D in year 3.

Hate to say it, But i bet he ends up in the portal within the next year or two because he’s been passed over and can’t gain the adequate enough of weight to make an impact here at Texas.

These are the 1st world problems that Sark has created for the roster.

There are about to be some very good 4 star high school players that leave Texas because they won't ever see the field.  The depth in Austin is starting to rival Georgia and Ohio State.  Akana is one, and even Finkley may be another despite his increase in playing time last year.

A graduate transfer? So like three years from now?

I was thinking after the 2025 season.  A lot of these kids now come to college with credits in place and graduate in 3 1/2 years.  That is not uncommon.
