Texas is one of four schools considered to have the best shot to land the scoring machine. along with LSU, Texas Tech and Oklahoma. Chavez is seen as once in a decade or two level prospect out of the state of Texas. The 5-9 point guard averaged 37.8 points as a junior, including 187 three-point makes at 41%. She has connected on 445 three-pointers in three seasons at 42%. Chavez by the numbers: 2023-24: 37.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.5 steals. 2022-23: 30.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.1 steals. 2021-22: 25.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.3 steals. She's 2,000 short of the all-time record, so would need a huge season. 46.1 per game is the all time scoring average leader. Three-point makes in a season and all-time after the 2024-25 season, yes.
