Texas beat TCU 80-52 in the first closed door scrimmage October 19, and beat Colorado 79-75 Sunday without starting guard Tramon Mark. This morning, OTF delivers a look at the Texas Longhorns team with the regular season tipping off in Las Vegas November 4 in an NCAA Tournament level game vs. Ohio State. Texas' closed scrimmage schedule October 19 - TCU in San Antonio. 80-52 victory. Tramon mark and Tre Johnson led in scoring with 13 apiece. Texas front court players Jayson Kent and Kadin Shedrick combine for five three-pointers. October 26 - Colorado in Austin. 79-75 victory. Texas led by as many as 17, and was up 12 at the under four minute timeout. Tre Johnson led all scorers with 31 points. Tramon Mark sat out with minor ankle sprain. Both are closed door scrimmages. NBA draft pick: Yes, plus a few others that will play pro ball on some level. Tre Johnson - first round, and possible lottery pick. Multiple guards that will have a career in basketball. Experience: Yes. The roster has appeared in 828 college games, including 517 starts. The roster has 19 NCAA Tournament games appeared in, including two players who have played in an Elite 8 game. Ability to average 75+ points per game: Tramon Mark, Tre Johnson, Jordan Pope, Arthur Kaluma, Julian Larry, Jayson Kent, Kadin Shedrick and Chendall Weaver can all put up double digit on a given night. Perimeter shooting: Jordan Pope, Julian Larry, Tramon Mark, Tre Johnson and Jayson Kent will all knock down three's. Free throw shooting: Potentially best free throw shooting team at Texas. Much better on twos.
