BubbaJacques Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 My buddy said he heard that Texas A&M might leave the SEC for the Big Ten. Has anybody heard about this? 1 Quote

Has anybody heard about this? Just a mindless twitter rumor. Won't happen. If A&M did try to pursue it, it would be the biggest mistake A&M has ever made. 2 Quote

Outside of College Station, the negative PR hit would be so massive (scared of Texas) that I think it would severely damage their ability to recruit, even with NIL. Add that to trying to get local kids to tell their families they would be playing way far away from home. So imo, yes even bigger than Jimbo. He was still bringing in talent. 1 Quote
BubbaJacques Posted January 31, 2024 Author Posted January 31, 2024 Maybe the Aggies could find a new rival to obsess over. I'm thinking Rutgers. "Saw the Scarlet Knights' swords off..." 1 1 Quote

TeeDoe Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Would the Big 10 take them? If they go anywhere, which I don’t think they will, they should go back to the Big XII. Of course that would require them to actually admit their place in the CFB landscape. 2 Quote
jonbailey Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 The real question is whose coattails will A&M ride now that Saban is gone. Maybe Georgia will become the new Alabama, but what if Texas is the program leading the conference. Will they still chant SEC? 2 Quote

Yes, the Big 10 would take them. They are a huge university with a large following. Quote
