Alex January

Recommended Posts

Someone asked the guys today if Alex January would be in the rotation or if he would be red shirted, and I’m sorry to let you down, but even if he’s red shirted he will not play 4 years of football at the University of Texas. Just too good.

Still need to redshirt if possible because one never knows and DL recruiting of HS players has been to the point of being bad. Save his 4 games toward the end of the season.

Will be interesting to see. Was told last weekend that he will play this season ... not a plan to redshirt him barring injury.

The genius of getting guys on campus in January is that you don’t have to redshirt as many of them. Also, the really good ones, they’re here for 3 years only so redshirting makes less sense for those. If the kid can play, get him in there. Depth will be at a premium as the season wears on.
