He has improved at the FT line and in the mid-range ... but his best basketball has always been way out in front of him. The major issue for Texas and Mitchell is he's not a college wing, and Texas doesn't have one this year. Texas struggles at home continue to baffle. A night where Max Abmas just couldn't buy an open look, which happens about three nights over a 35 game season. Well, that and Iowa St’s defense is suffocating. Assistant Regional Manager
IT Horton being borderline unplayable has hurt this team so badly. Need a second guard who can be a semi-reliable bucket-getter. And while Weaver has been good and growing into his role, he isn't that guy. I hate to harp on it but if this team had Jayden Nunn or Reese Dixon-Waters, we probably have at least 2-3 more wins on the season.

He’s been found money tho @Gerry Hamilton said he’d be a fan fav in the vein of SJR. It’s the elephant in the room that’s continued to weigh us down. Tyrese Hunter. 21 against Baylor and then 26 over his next 5. His inability to understand and maximize his strengths after a B12 FOTY start at ISU is mind boggling. Massive IF he can play with a level of consistency on offense then this team has a chance given that Disu and Max bring it pretty much every night.

Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted February 8 Author Moderators Share Posted February 8 Texas essentially having to take a third year staring PG/CG (Hunter) off the ball this year has been so big in the season inconsistency… While Max and Disu are terrific in the two-man game, Texas hasn’t been able to attack all the way they wanted due to Abmas having to take over the ball a high percentage of the time Ball in hand too much for Hunter and Mitchell (he tries to do too much) have been killers IMO

Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted February 10 Author Moderators Share Posted February 10 Texas now sits at 16-8, 5-6 in Big 12 Most likely scenario: @ Houston - loss (16-9, 5-7) Kansas State - win (17-9, 6-7) @ Kansas - loss (17-10, 6-8) @ Texas Tech - loss (17-11, 6-9) Oklahoma State - win (18-11, 7-9) @ Baylor - loss (18-12, 7-10) Oklahoma - win (19-12, 8-10)

Would love to see them steal one of those road games but those are such tough places to play. I would say @ Baylor might be the best chance. Because the Big 12 is brutal, I think Texas would definitely get in ... and would be on that 8-9 seed line IMO. Or 10 seed. Their NCAA Net would end up with 5-6 Quad 1 wins depending on how the season plays out, and ranked in top 30 more than likely. Currently No. 33 after all Saturday games... https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings

Neil Leininger
Interesting. Adam Silver said today the NBA is considering getting rid of the Ignite. He sights NIL as a big reason why, but the real reason is that the players that have graduated from it are complete dog ****.
