Sarkisian says he believes the INT by Mukuba was a result of the pass rush by Ethan Burke. Credits Manny MUhammad for also getting his hand in the basket there.

Next for Texas is to not allowing the QB out of the pocket says Sarkisian. Sark says they were a bit surprised by Warren's athleticism outside the pocket,

Sarkisian says one thing about Ewers that gets lost is that we don't see the emotions and competitiveness at times.

Sark pointed to the OK State game on the road in Stillwater where Ewers was "pissed" after the loss.

Sarkisian says it was huge for Texas to stay ahead of the chains and not turn the ball over.

Ewers executed that plan.

They did not want to be behind in the chains for Wink Martindale to blitz.

Sarkisian says he calls on his team to go to that killer level.

Even if the game is out of hand, he doesn't want teams to score late and he doesn't want to waste offensive possessions.

"I want to make it 60 minutes of hell for our opponents."

Sarkisian says one thing for Trey Moore he has been impressed with is his physicality in the run game.

"The other stuff is going to come."

Says even though the sack numbers aren't there he has been very impactful on the EDGE.

Sark says the team has a meeting for 20 minutes every Friday called 'Situational Masters' for when those critical moments arise, they are prepared.

Texas shows clips of other games in big situations late in games or in specific time/distance examples.

Sarkisian says one of his favorite plays Saturday was a swing play to Tre Wisner where he could have gone out of bounds after a big game, but instead he stayed in bounds and delivered a hit to the Michigan DB's to help establish the tone of physicality the Longhorns were playing with on Saturday.

Sarkisian says on the red zone efficiency in 2024, the offense has minimized the self-inflicted wounds.

Sark penalties and execution were the two biggest hindrances from a year ago. This year, the offense is executing better and not shooting themselves in the foot near the goal line.

The one drive Texas had vs. Michigan that did not score was the result of a penalty on first down and a missed assignment soon thereafter.

Sark says Moore is not very emotional, but he has a very even keeled head on his shoulders that focuses mostly on the task at hand.

Sarkisian goes on about football IQ.

He shows blunders from players across the country as examples of what is not acceptable. Wants to show live proof of how it affects teams due to individual actions.

It seems Sark is really demanding alot from the guys and that they are stepping up to the challenge instead of shying away like it seemed previous teams may have done. The mindset is something else and it will be interesting to see how long Texas can keep the continuity

That situational awareness is so great to show and teach the guys. Great teams not only make the play, win the rep, but understand the down, distance, clock, score, rules etc.
Mahomes and other great QBs are so next level with that stuff. Quick snap before a review. Staying in bounds. Seeing who is subbing out.
It’s great that the fundamentals seem to be solid enough that he can move on to  more detailed concepts for the players. That will be huge in winning the biggest games. So glad Sark and Co. are on our side 😅
