Moderators Blake Munroe Posted November 7, 2024 Moderators Posted November 7, 2024 Thank you all for the kind words. I just now got to really read through them all instead of just one or two here and there. He’s doing better for sure… to the point where I plan to do Coffee and Football Tomm morning from the hospital! I actually sent this update to Bobby and Gerry right before hopping on here… Update as of this morning…. Overall a pretty good night. Nothing eventful. We are still in ICU. He seems to be responding pretty well to every thing. They were all but certain they were going to have to do another transfusion last night to “catch his body up”. It was like right at that point, lab wise, as of 4 PM. When they did the midnight labs though, it showed improvement and they didn’t have to do it at all. So we all got to sleep some! Neurosurgeon is going to come later to look at his foot though. There’s a couple of areas he doesn’t have feeling on… mainly the bottom. It could be the result of a few things. We shall see. We also haven’t addressed the anomaly in his shoulder/AC joint. Maybe today? Hopefully we will get to move to a normal room today. They said he bled so much internally that he’s going to be in pain for quite a few more days… so pain control is the name of the game 12 Quote

Jc Dobbs Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Prayers for continued improvement. I read all of these messages and it really impressed me at how many caring people we have at OTF. When the young man is well enough Blake can show him how many folks were praying and pulling for his eventual recovery. God Bless the Munroe family. Hook 'Em Colt ! 1 Quote

Moderators Blake Munroe Posted November 17, 2024 Moderators Posted November 17, 2024 Well we’ve been home since Thursday and if I say its been easy, I’ll be lying. Colt is doing better but we have an incredibly long journey ahead. He's beginning to eat a little better for sure but the pain, long nights, etc are still there. It also seems to be a big mental thing and I think he’s in shock that he went from being an incredibly in shape athlete to looking like a twig. I’m also wondering if it’s setting in that he nearly died 12 days ago. And when I say nearly died, I mean it. We found out a few days after it happened that he was sooo incredibly close to death. If he waited 30 more minutes before calling me to come get him, I’m probably not having this conversation. We start physical therapy on Monday. I’m hoping that helps. But it’s been tough watching him like this. No playing catch, no trying to catch me off guard and beat up on me, no asking me for gas money, no “dad what’s for dinner im starving”. All the little things I’ve always taken for granted are currently on hold. Your continued prayers would be much appreciated. I never would have dreamed it would be this rough when we returned home. 5 Quote

Absolutely, Blake. Will continue. If you need something, even if it’s not physical and you just need to vent or find a sympathetic ear- call me. 1 1 Quote
