CHorn427
The teams we play next will be coming after him, particularly the winner of Oregon/tOSU if we get there. I’m worried about our defense next year if he’s the best CB we have coming back. Seems to have regressed a little from last season. Sophomore slump? He didn’t have a great game but you also can’t expect a guy to cover a receiver for eight seconds. Some of those throws were the scramble drill. Other throws were just great throws on good coverage. But I agree, manny did not have a great game. I’m not worried about the defense though. They keep teams out of the end zone when it counts Edited 7 hours ago by Beard N Balls Bundle

tsip92
I think he forgot rule number one of being a CB, forget what happened on the last play. He had that really bad read on the ball to the TE where he bit down and let the guy run right by and it just seemed like the wheels came off after that.
rgvhorn80
Win is a win, but you can’t ignore that the Longhorns can’t seem to put together 4 solid quarters of good football. The 3rd quarter in particular is bad. It will end up costing them. This game like many others they’ve played shouldn’t have been close.

A DB can have good coverage but a perfect throw and catch can still be made. On this play MM had good coverage but Klubick made a perfect throw.

I think he had a rough day, but he’s been rly good all year. They got away with some push offs on him too that affected his coverage. I see him coming out next game on fire. I think he will be a fine CB1 next year… and we might get Tacario Davis or another CB from the portal to help too.

chennups
I trust our secondary coaches. We’ve doubted them before and they led a huge turn around. They will circle the wagons and next game will be better. Need to get his head right and technique will shine through. Keep your head up 5.
Chop
Next game will probably be more about getting ready for tackling a physical powerful back. No arm tackles next week

ASU does have a running game with a really good back. Clemson did not have that but Clemson did have really good receivers and Klubnik played lights out.

Simmons was close to hitting klubnik before the second pass there.

Saw him get beat several times in other games in critical situations. In our regular season game vs UGA, score was 23-15 and we had them 3rd and 10. Muhammad allowed the conversion to Arian Smith. One other critical example I can think of from the season, but there have been more. He’s been good overall, not saying he’s not. But he needs to play better vs Oregon/Ohio State caliber of teams if we get there.

They keep teams out of the end zone when it counts I agree mostly. The alarming thing is when Clemson started attacking him with back to back big gains. Hopefully it is a good thing- as Rod B and others say, sometimes the best thing that can happen is winning while playing bad. Things to coach up and fix. I think he needs to play significantly better vs Oregon or Ohio State if we get there. I do have confidence that he can play better

Must not have read my whole comment, where I said “particularly the winner of Oregon/Ohio State”. Also, we hopefully have 2 more games after ASU. Everyone left in the bracket except ASU and Boise are more talented than Clemson and have the athletes to attack Muhammad if he doesn’t play better than he did yesterday

Then yeah, don’t look ahead. I am a fan on a fan message board- literally no consequence from me “looking ahead”. The ironic thing is you are poo-pooing me for “looking ahead” past ASU, when your whole original comment was downplaying/potentially underestimating ASU. You see the irony there, right?
