Turntine’s “family commitment” ….

If that turns out to be true, that sounds like that means that Ojo told Flood that he would play RT @Gerry Hamilton , correct me if I'm wrong.

Ojo said he is Texas’s number one target at OT. The staff isn’t know to play around with kids so this is interesting. Also now fonged to Texas as I put in the Monday thread.

I don't disagree - but that goes against everything we have heard and known for about 4-6 months. If Ojo is "target number 1" (which I'm still not sure is true), then he's the LT and Turntine probably goes somewhere else.

Let’s don’t be naive.  Flood struck out on Roger’s, Fausi and Hayward.  He wasn’t going to get all three but he should have picked off one but two of the three went to our rivals.  Not saying we have lost our on Turntine but he not showing up at Austin the biggest day of his recruiting cycle up too now is surprising,  Why?  It shows he is not locked into Texas yet.  It was about him, not helping Texas recruit future teammates.  Now, he has every right to go where he wanted last weekend,  However, we should know better to say a coach will get his players.  We watched Mack spend his last years, not getting the best players.

Go touch grass, be with your family or go to work. Panic this early over a recruit is beyond stupid with how they operate.

No issue at all with him choosing to go to the "other" UT for a Junior Day. However, it could be a big issue if he was not being truthful with the Texas coaches regarding why he was not coming to Austin.  It would be nice to know if Gerry's reporting was NOT coming from our coaches but rather from the kid or a source close to the kid.  I look forward to Gerry clarifying this for us, as it is not a big deal if he told Gerry a "story" about family plans, vs if he was actually not straight with our coaches, as that would be a negative sign.

The Turntine family told the Texas staff they make a earlier commitment to the Tennessee Junior Day.

"Turntine told Texas about visiting Tennessee per @Gerry Hamilton"

What happened to the Gerry report that he had a "family event?"

Well, it could have been considered a '"family event" if the young man was accompanied by a family member. Or 11 family members as we have seen at Texas before!!!

Of course we'd like a coveted recruit to give a silent commitment on his first visit to the Forty Acres and stick with it until signing day. These days that seems rare.

I remember how Mack didn't want his recruits to take other visits after an "understanding," but these days I personally feel better about a guy who has taken visits to his top 2-3 offers... perhaps that kid is less likely to hit the portal out if things don't go as he expected.

Why not just come and tell everyone he's going to Tennessee? It's coming anyway. Either Gerry played us or Turntine played us.

All that matters is that he told the staff....what he told a 995er is irrelevant and doesn't matter.

I don't care if Turntine goes to Oregon, A&M or Georgia. I just want real reports rather than "family" excuses.

Brother, stop crying over what a 17-year old kid did - go find some other hobby if you are just going to complain.

Coz, you've misunderstood what's going on with hobbies and complaints.

So what you're saying is we don't get real reports from OTF?

If the athlete tells the coaches his true intentions of Tennessee and tells an OTF staff member another thing and OTF reports that it’s a real report no matter what with information that was shared to them. You can’t expect OTF to know what Turntine told the coaching staff.
