I’m about to hit the road and head to Abilene, where I’ll be watching No. 5 Lubbock Monterey square off against No. 6 Frisco Memorial in the 5A-Division II semi-finals at Hardin-Simmons University. Tip off is set for 6:30 PM

Tonight all eyes will be on five-star prospect Aaliyah Chavez. The nation’s No. 1 player overall has had a remarkable season, averaging 35.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.

Chavez is down to Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and South Carolina.

I’ll be bringing y’all updates throughout the evening, so stay tuned.

Texas has got EVERYTHING going for us in the right direction and tech is still just tech.

Plus she knows Lubbock sucks and Oklahoma is just Lubbock north.

Spoke to a source close to Chavez’s recruitment just a minute ago.

“It’s Texas or Texas Tech.”

Double Eagle and Mahomes will give 7 figures NIL to Chavez doubt Texas will and shouldn’t.

Blake, do you have any connection to HS girls' basketball, or are you doing this just to prove once again that OTF is the best site going?

I like girls high school basketball. I call it for radio. One of my good friends is a girls basketball HC… but I have no direct connection to these teams.

I am here tonight for OTF and yall.

I'm glad to see Texas heavily involved here.  There's another girl in this state that deserves mention but hasn't gotten the national attention.   Megyn Meekins of Nocona HS passed 3000 points in her career.  BTW they are headed back to the championship game in their 2A division.
