GoHorns1 Posted Saturday at 07:01 PM Posted Saturday at 07:01 PM (edited) My youngest brother sister-in-law and I took my nephew and niece to Texas/Rice baseball game in Houston the season after Rice won the natty. After the game my nephew and niece got in line to get autographs from Augie and players. My niece who was a very shy 7 year old wasn’t sure what to do, so Augie ask me her name (Carley). Augie calls her name and ask to sit by him and signed an autograph and talked while others were getting players autographs. Edited Saturday at 07:04 PM by GoHorns1 1 Quote
Moderators Jeff Howe Posted Saturday at 07:08 PM Moderators Posted Saturday at 07:08 PM Does the Longhorn Band's performance in College Station after the bonfire tragedy count? If not, I'll go with the recruiting week on the road that I felt nearly led to me getting divorced (thank goodness it didn't). I'm pulling out of the parking lot at Dallas Skyline late on Thursday afternoon when Gerry calls me and tells me that if I'm headed home, I might want to turn around and stay the night in Dallas because Jackson Jeffcoat was going to commit to Texas on Friday morning. By the time I got settled in at a relative's house, we confirmed that Texas was getting a commitment from Jordan Hicks on Friday afternoon, too. Five-Star Friday is one I won't forget. 1 Quote

Yeah that band performance was something. I’m glad our University is so classy. Quote

MBHORNSFAN Posted Saturday at 08:31 PM Posted Saturday at 08:31 PM Mack press conference for sure VY committing I knew was huge. I saw VY play in high school almost every game. The SEC news breaking was awesome. Especially since aggy was clueless. Getting accepted and graduating from UT will always be my greatest memory. Especially seeing my grandparents reaction. 1 Quote

Aspann85 Posted Saturday at 11:31 PM Posted Saturday at 11:31 PM My favorite moment off the field would have to be graduating. I came in as a dumb jock and had to learn that Texas was a lot harder than high school and had a lot of habits to change. It was looking fairly bleak there for awhile but I persevered and got that diploma! 1 Quote
Ace Recruiter Posted Saturday at 11:51 PM Posted Saturday at 11:51 PM Speaking of Charlie's dark days, the year we got spanked in Ft Worth by TCU, I went to breakfast at the ol south pancake house in FW. We sat at the table next to Bill Little and Craig Way. I had to pick up their tab. Two super humble, gracious gents. I thought it was going to be a great day after that. WRONG! 1 Quote
