bourbasted Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I think they will get in mercifully. The announcers for the Tenn game were certainly talking us up. Texas has a huge media base, so I think we will get the benefit. I always want our teams to go as far as they can. These guys work their asses off, so IMHO deserve to go as far as they can. Short of a final-four appearance, I believe RT needs to go regardless. 1 Quote
Jack Lala Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago If we're in, probably 1 and done. No to any NIT talk. Let's get our new coach and move on. 1 1 Quote

I don’t think RT is the right guy, and I don’t think making the tournament impacts CDC’s decision. That should be the minimum standard at Texas. Quote
Austalgia Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago 1. Yes 2. Yes, I will always root for success for Texas teams. I hope Johnson. Pope, and Mark catch fire shooting 3s in the tourney like Blanks,Mays, and Wright. Quote
DiggsTX Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago We should (given other teams’ resumes) and yes. Mostly want it for Tre’s legacy at Texas. Quote
HudGar1922 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago @Gerry Hamilton honest question yes or no answer. do you think Rodney Terry deserves to be the head coach at Texas? Quote
Migas & Fajitas Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) Disturbing to me any UT fan would answer no to question #2 Edited 19 hours ago by Migas & Fajitas 1 Quote
817 Boxing B Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago 1. Yes.... the SEC was historic this year, in terms of talent and competition. They lost to a Tennessee team that will play for the SEC conference title. Sneaking in as a play in game sucks cheeks... but I'll take it. 2. Yes. RT had 2 tough years.. for different reasons... but hearing him coach with passion and emotion through that Texas A&M game and seeing true Texas fight start to be evident throughout the roster, I wanna see these guys lock in and fight for the state.. fight for the school... fight for their coach.. and more importantly... fight to leave a better taste in the fans mouth after such a roller-coaster season. Put some respect on your name. Go put on that slipper for a few games and dance!!🤘🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥 1 Quote

However, I hope this is a lesson for future nonconference scheduling - that slate was an embarrassment (and a complete ripoff) for paying season ticket holders and the team. If we talk about marquee scheduling for football, hold the basketball team to the same standard. RT had a team full of transfers... all one on one players... and needed some layup games for continuity.. and the injuries still derailed that. Texas invests way more into football than basketball. JT Toppin was player of the year in the Big 12... but we found a way to pay Justus Terry to leave Georgia. Apples to oranges. Instead of holding RT to such a standard.. how about those board members and the collective that didn't see fit to pay to play. We're talking about RT and BYU committed how many millions for Dybasanta next year? It's who Texas wants to represent their brand and what the folks with the money are comfortable with... when it comes to the recruits you see at Texas. That's why the kid from Carter experiment was so big. He blew it... and it turned off the important people off from going back into the hood for more talent. Keep getting soft suburban guys and we'll keep getting our 🍑 handed to us....🤘🏿🤷🏿♂️ Quote

Jerky Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Texas is healthier. Texas boosted their resume with 2 good Quad-1 wins in the SEC tourney and a solid 1st half vs a really good TN team. I believe Texas should be in the field of 68. Texas can make a case to be in ahead of WV, UNC, Xavier, IU, OHSt, SDST, Boise St, Vandy, etc. Texas has 7 Quad-1 wins including 4 in the last 30 days. 1. Yes, but it's close with a few teams. 14 SEC teams in March Madness is not desirable by the committee. 2. Yes, I want Texas to make the NCAA tournament. Quote
David Martin Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago 1. Yes, but I think it’ll be very close. 2. Yes, of course. I want the best for any Texas team regardless of any other factors. Quote
Clint Baros Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago 1. Yes, trying to convince myself they will 2. Hell yes, I don't care how little chance we have. If Texas has the opportunity to compete for the title im 100% in Quote

Yes, we actually want our team in the tournament. #GerryIsAnAggie Edited 14 hours ago by horns96 1 Quote
