Moderators Jeff Howe Posted March 19 Author Moderators Posted March 19 The loss isn't great. If Dre Duplantier's injury is serious then that's much more of an issue. And, as CJ mentioned, you can forget about Riojas being available on Friday against LSU. 1 Quote

NothinButDaHorns34 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Oof! Right when we were riding high on that 17 game winning streak. Quote

Thanks for the good work Jeff! I couldn't make it after 9 innings, but thanks for sticking with it. Sucks we lost, but we'll be ready for lsu 🤘 1 Quote
.45s Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Disappointing loss. The combination of Rerick (starter), Navarre, and Burns pitched 1.0 innings and gave up 7 runs (6 earned). Kade Bing pitched great. Howard was a bit shaky but pitched better than I have seen him for a while and Riojas did pretty well, but was probably in too long again. Hitting was spotty as far as getting runs across and putting rallies together, as partially evidenced by our 3 homeruns all being solo shots. We did have some bad luck as far as hard hit balls that were caught and even Belyeu getting hit on the bases by a hard hit ball by Flores that would have been a hit. The two errors were costly and base running could have been better. Mendoza is a firecracker, Belyeu is swinging better again, as is Flores, Schuessler may be getting back to his old self, and Winfield may be looking better. Galvan's power has been impressive, but he struck out 3 times last night and Gasparino did twice. Both had seemed to be cutting down strikeouts from last year, but those may be increasing again. We were in double digit strikeouts again, and UTSA only had 7. Quote
