Bevo92 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Crazy how quickly these professional sports valuations have ballooned over past 10 yrs. Great article on ESPN about the Celtics sale. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44328557/sources-bill-chisholm-agrees-buy-celtics-61-billion Quote
harveycmd Posted Saturday at 12:30 PM Posted Saturday at 12:30 PM Lakers sold for $10 billion. Highest price in history. Reminds me of Magic being the only rookie to ever win Finals MVP. Only point guard to ever play center in the NBA Finals. 42 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists in game 6 clincher when he was 20. Convinced head coach Paul Westphal to start him at center in place of injured Kareem. 1 Quote
harveycmd Posted Saturday at 12:39 PM Posted Saturday at 12:39 PM (edited) Use to hear about this all the time. How Magic was the only player in the history of world versatile enough to play any position on the floor (1-5) and do it well enough to win a title while doing so. Now we have pencil goobers hammering us with analytics. Edited Saturday at 12:40 PM by harveycmd Quote
harveycmd Posted Saturday at 04:42 PM Posted Saturday at 04:42 PM (edited) Fat boy Luka and Grandpa LeBrick are out of favor with new owner Walter. Thank god. Can't let stupid Mavs fans and hype rule. Package both and get real title winning players. Gotta fire Pelinka find a real GM. Edited Saturday at 04:44 PM by harveycmd Quote

Inspired73 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I don't get it. Where is the money coming from to pay the 8 Billion in debt service? Here in San Antonio, the Spurs don't routinely sell out. They have two major local sponsors.....Frost and HEB. Local TV rating are flaccid. They only command 1 tv at our favorite bar. These buyers are betting on more national and worldwide tv revenues. I feel certain that those guys are smarter than me, but gee, I just don't see where the debt service is going to come from. The only way the NBA survives is if it turns into a World league with a team in each of the top 20 cities in the world. PS: the interest on 8 billion at 5% (way below market)=400 million annually.
