Miller's vision of the program involves four things: recruiting (transfer portal, recruiting the best high school players, a great feel for international recruiting and winning within the state), player development, style of play (up-tempo style of play, playing fast and smart, toughness), culture (can you turn it around when your back is against the wall?)

Miller: "To have a great college basketball program, you have to have a great crowd when you play at home."

Miller said he's looking forward to being at Texas where he can knock on the door and eventually knock it down regarding getting over the hump and to the Final Four for the first time in his career.

Sean Miller called this his "final journey" as a coach, which further speaks to his hunger to complete his résumé with the Longhorns.

When he was asked about what it will take to get over the hump, Miller kept talking about "elite talent."

Miller said the tipping point when deciding to take the job was Texas providing the opportunity to compete for and win national championships.

Miller said he doesn't want to rush into any decision regarding building out his staff.

Miller said he doesn't have any concerns regarding resources in the NIL space.

NIL is part of competing, but you have to a plan on how to get the most out of those resources, Miller said.

Miller said he's confident in his style of play translating to the SEC regardless of what everybody else in the league is doing.

Miller wants Texas to play with a togetherness and toughness that can be part of the program's identity.

When asked if any of his Xavier players are coming with him, Miller said he doesn't want to comment on it right now.
