.45s Posted April 2 Posted April 2 We had 12 strikeouts against T. State pitching to their 6. Every time we do that it is more difficult to win. Losing an excellent all around player like Belyeu is going to hurt due to lack of depth and the failure of Winfield hit at all and strikeout half the time. We definitely need A Rod healthy again and some backups to step up. Quote
harveycmd Posted April 2 Posted April 2 How about some defense? Field the ball and it's no problem. 2 Quote
marathon Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) 10 hours ago, Jeff Howe said: Need Mendoza to bounce back and Flores to get going. Agree. We had Max, Mendoza, Flores and Galvan all hitting well. Not to mention some big hits from Gasparino. I realize Duplantier got a double last night but he is a career .200 hitter. He leadoff an inning with a bunt attempt, would have bunted again with a runner on base but the pitcher was wild and walked him, bunted again on what was ruled a hit. It’s like having a pitcher at the plate….You are basically sacrificing a spot in the lineup. i would play Winfield and give him some consistent AB’s. He was a top transfer portal addition after hitting over .330 with 10 HR, 40 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases in 54 games at ULM last year. Edited April 2 by marathon 1 Quote
